Museu Café & Petisco — Restaurant in Funchal

This is one of the few local places where you can get savory breakfast. However, part of the experience was ruined by the low quality of food. First of all, I've ordered poached eggs with salmon served on bolo de caco. The bread was stale, and I literally have to fight to be able to cut a piece of it. There's no way I was served fresh bread, and this is quite sad. The real disappointment was the liquid that this place calls hollandiser sauce, which has nothing in common with a real hollandiser starting with the consistency and finishing with the taste of it. It's better to serve nothing than this sauce. Also, one of the poached eggs was not fully cooked because the egg white was still runny and reminded me I didn't want to write what. I think that food was unfortunately worth only 2 starts but the service was nice so I hope this place will improve and next time I'll have a better...

Allows the Portuguese band to sing the N word.

Was really enjoying myself until the reggae band performing decided to cover Childish Gambinos Redbone and thought it was culturally acceptable for four white Portuguese men to sing the N word at the top of their lungs to a crowd full of people. I couldn't even believe it. I thought surely they aren't singing that word.....a reggae band tapped into western culture and black music enough to sing reggae music and the songs and understand the meaning, but not enough to not sing the N word. The fact that the business allows it tells me if you are a Black or person of color don't come here. You can say "oh well they're Portuguese" doesnt matter. They understand the cultural significance. Love this place, but had an awful experience at the jam session with one of the bartenders. I came to the bar counter when my friends were waiting in the queue. They were served right after I came there, when they left I stayed there waiting to be served, but all the bartenders were busy serving people around for a while. I asked the nearest bartender(unfortunately don't know her name, but she had long blue nails) to serve me and got an aggressive response saying I didn't stay in a queue, that she saw I just jumped in. She was rude and served me arrogantly, discussing my behavior with the people around me. Never had such a weird experience in the last 2 years in this bar.
