Loft - Brunch & Cocktails, Praça — Restaurant in Funchal

This is a nice place for brunch. The venue is modern and clean. There is ample outdoor seating available. I like the diversity of the menu, although sometimes I am under the impression that less choice would result in a better product.

The eggs Funchal is their version of Eggs Benedict. It’s quite nice. Be sure to order extra eggs if you want to up the protein. The eggs were in my opinion perfectly cooked - see the picture.

The Marques de Larios acai bowl is small, but really tasty. In comparison, the Gran Via chocolate smoothie bowl is overly sweet and I couldn’t finish it.

My daughter ate her way through pancakes and waffles, which come as a large portion.

The „to your measure“ yogurt bowls are a good way to find the perfect meal for a picky eater.

Regrettably, the coffee is just okay-ish. There are much better options for good coffee in Funchal.

The atmosphere on the square is nice, although there can be a strange crowd loitering on the northern side of it, often accompanied by barking dogs. Neighboring shops try desperately to move them away from their spot, although often unsuccessfully.

The many cars passing through Rua do frigorifico are audible by the squeaky sound they make from turning the corner.

All in all: if you are in the vicinity this is a good spot for brunch. Just don’t hope for...

I recently discovered a fantastic spot called Loft, centrally located in Funchal on Madeira Island. Over the past few months, I've visited multiple times, sampling five or six different dishes, each ranging from decent to downright delicious. I highly recommend trying the chicken toast and the tuna bowl, both are really good!

A standout at Loft is their non-alcoholic cocktail, the Tala. It's one of the best beverages I've ever tasted! So good that their menu claims it will make you an addict of the place, and I must say, this isn't far from the truth. The Tala is delicious, colorful, and vibrant, instantly lifting your mood with every sip.

The service at Loft is both pleasant and fast, a rare find on Madeira Island. There are cool board games available on the tables, adding a fun touch to the dining experience. The prices are also very reasonable, reflecting the great value you get.

We decided to sit outside because it was a beautiful day. We were approached right away. He got our coffee order and I was excited to see a selection of iced coffees, then he let us sit until we called him back, someone was always watching to take care of us. They were very professional and extremely polite. Our meals were fantastic. I had the pancakes with strawberries and cream cheese with a little jam in the center. 2 plump circular pancakes with fresh strawberries and some large dollops of cream cheese yum!!
