Stay away!!
I recently had the misfortune of visiting K Urban Beach in Lisbon, and I must say it was an utterly dreadful experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a menacing group of doormen who seemed more interested in flexing their muscles than ensuring a pleasant night out. Their aggressive demeanor and unnecessary use of force left me feeling unwelcome and intimidated. If you're looking for a relaxed and enjoyable evening, I strongly advise against entering this establishment.
The staff at K Urban Beach were equally disappointing. Their rudeness and lack of professionalism were evident throughout the night. It felt as if they were doing us a favor by allowing us to spend our hard-earned money at their establishment. Any attempts to engage with them were met with curt responses and an overall dismissive attitude. Clearly, customer satisfaction is not a priority at K Urban Beach.
To make matters worse, it seems that K Urban Beach attracts a particular crowd of Portuguese girls who have no qualms about stealing alcohol and telling lies to the doormen. It was disheartening to witness such behavior and see the staff turn a blind eye to it. This only added to the hostile atmosphere and reinforced the notion that this club is not a safe or welcoming space for non-Portuguese guys.
I strongly urge anyone considering a visit to K Urban Beach to think twice. The violent doormen, rude staff, and the presence of dishonest individuals make for a toxic environment that is far from enjoyable. There are plenty of other nightlife options in Lisbon that prioritize customer satisfaction and provide a safe and inclusive experience for all. Spare yourself the frustration and disappointment by avoiding K Urban Beach...
Read moreThis place changes quite a bit depending on which day you go. Thursday to Saturday it is extremely crowded, so much so that you can barely walk, it takes forever to get and drink, and the floor is not really enjoyable. The music can also be atrocious; unless you’re completely hammered I don’t see how you can enjoy their random mix of Portuguese top 40, anthem pop and whatever else the DJ decides. If you are hammered, though, it’s hilarious and fun. People there are generally in a great mood and it’s good for some craziness.
Wednesdays are not so crowded, there is still a good amount of people seeing how it’s a pretty popular club, and they play some different music (basically Latin music). That’s interesting and different to most clubs in Lisbon where on “Latin” nights they often play only a couple of Latin songs and then the usual, so if that interests you I recommend it. You will also get to actually enjoy the space.
Drinks are priced ok, served pretty heavy. Security can be a little rude, but I’ve never had any serious incidents there. They will push though, and when it gets full they don’t really bother addressing properly and just use some forceful gestures to tell you what they want. As in any club, play nice and you’ll be fine.
The club itself is beautiful because of its location and view, and the outdoor area is great for a break or a little talk now that the weather has improved. It can also be a good break from the music.
The crowd is very young. I am still in college and still most people I talked to there were younger than me.
Honestly it’s a very particular experience, on balance probably worth it, but not a place I’d visit regularly unless you really wanna go all out. Too crowded and...
Read moreRACIST, VIOLENT BOUNCERS -- AVOID THIS CLUB
A black friend of mine, as well as his younger sister and several others friends, were violently assaulted by the bouncers at this club. The bouncers told the members of my friend's group that it was a private party (a lie) and that they would have to pay 250 euro each to get in. Directly in front of them in the line, a group of four white men had just been admitted without the bouncers mentioning anything about a "private party" or checking to confirm that they were on the guest list, so it was blatantly obvious that the bouncers were lying about the existence of a private party in order to exclude the people of color in my friend's group. Naturally, the people in my friend's group were frustrated and exasperated by this, and told the bouncers that their decision was clearly racist. One member of my friend's group began filming the situation. The bouncers immediately responded with violence, putting this person in a chokehold — he has asthma and literally could have died — and hitting him. When my friend rushed over to try to stop the bouncers from choking his friend with asthma, he too was put in a chokehold, then thrown on the ground and kicked in the face and ribs while he lay there defenseless, trying to recover his breath. When his younger sister tried to intervene, she was pulled away by her hair, for many feet.
The bouncers at this club are violent, racist animals. They're looking to hurt people. Even if you're white and don't think you'd have any troubles getting in, remember that the money you spend here goes directly into the pockets of these thugs. Don't go here. Don't...
