Very friendly member of staff approached us and showed us the menu and the restaurant, which is just off the main high street next to Brady's Bar. Booked a table for Monday 19th June. Upon arrival met by staff and given a choice of table around the pool area. Garlic bread and Bruscettta ordered as starters. Garlic bread was huge! Extremely fresh, clearly made there and then. Read moreA fantastic new restaurant in Carvoeiro which was so good that we went twice in one week, once with my fiancé and then again with our whole group which was 9 in total and both occasions didn't disappoint. I was a little apprehensive the first time as we have been coming to Carvoeiro for many years and have a number of restaurants that we will always try to visit. Gum Tree is now very much part of that list of favourites as it caters for a romantic evening or big groups/families. It's a very relaxed restaurant and the food is fantastic with a wide choice on the menu. Cesar is a great host and made us all feel very welcome. The clams were over cooked past belief and some of the pasta had gone very hard where it had obviously been left for a long period under a heating lamp whilst they prepared other dishes. When we complained to the head waiter his response was "nothing wrong, its just well done clams". I had the most expensive tiger prawns, 2 for €48 euros. These two were also as the head waiter would probably also describe as "well done" but also over cooked and dry.
