I have been coming to Carvoeiro for 30 years and as a homeowner here have come regularly to O Indiano for about the last 12 years. I was amazed when I first came, and wrote a review then saying it was hands down my favourite Indian restaurant (anywhere). I feel I should now update my review after such a long time. Nothing has changed. It is fantastic home-cooked proper punjabi food which is just like my mum used to make (brought my punjabi parents and friends here regularly and they absolutely loved it). As an Indian, I can't fault it. The food is just authentic, delicious, not oily, priced well with huge generous portions, and the beer comes in chilled glasses too! The service is very warm, professional and friendly and the staff treat us like family, having had four generations of my family eat there. It is not fine dining, but delicious homely Indian food, no matter what you try made with care. Their offer of a complimentary main meal on my next order felt inadequate given the circumstances. A more appropriate response would have been a full refund and a thorough review of their food safety protocols.
Food safety is not something to take lightly, and I hope the restaurant investigates this seriously to prevent future incidents. Until then, I can’t confidently recommend...
Read moreQuite a shock at how tasty this place was. My wife and I said we should come back for dinner and we are staying 50km away in Faro. The low review count shouldn’t concern you , everyone eels to be on target for food quality.
We had vindaloo chicken and butter chicken plus naan and rice. One we started we were amazed at how good every thing was and immediately ordered a second naan. Something we almost never do.
Service was great; we arrived around 2 on a Sunday in Jan. Other people kept coming in until they stopped service around 240. It wasn’t too busy.
To me a 5 star review is wanting to immediately return if cost was no object. This certainly...
