Restaurante O Cantinho — Restaurant in Lagoa

So disappointed not to be able to write a proper review. Found this place on Google and decided to give it a try based on reviews (4.6). Went with my partner and 8 month old baby this evening. There was already a family of 6 and a couple ahead of us in the queue. After 10 minutes of zero attention, the family started to walk off. Only at that point did a member of staff come out to ask if they wanted a table. There were 4 or 5 free tables at this point. We stupidly thought this would mean that we would be served shortly. By then there were another three couples queued behind us. The couple in front eventually got fed up and went to find somebody and were told their table would be prepared. Still we waited… after another 5/10 mins we managed to grab a waiter only to be told they wouldn’t seat anyone else tonight. Why would they not have told us that 20 minutes earlier?! He was very rude and told us they were too busy with the customers they had to spend 30 seconds to apologise and ask us (and the other 6 people in the queue) to come another time. So we turned around and walked back up the hill with our (by this time) crying baby. Thankfully we found somewhere much nicer and with far better service. A real surprise to receive such bad service after such great experiences everywhere...

I wish i could give a higher rating than 5. Hands down the best survice ever received. The indoor area was reserved for a private event, and at first, we were refused seating, although the outdoor area seemed little occupied. A nice waiter arranged for us to sit outside and has been very friendly and accommodating throughout the whole evening. We understood later that they were concerned about the kitchen's ability to accommodate dinner for everyone while maintaining high-quality service. Nonetheless, it was top-notch. On the order, I wanted to order one glass of dry wine, but they did not have dry wine per glass. After a small disagreement with my husband on getting a bottle, I decided not to have any drinks. The waiter showed up 5 minutes later with dry wine, mentioning that the bottle was for staff, but he wouldn't want me to have my dinner without wine. I was in awe. It gets even better that they have a welcome drink and a thank you drink. The food was phenomenal. Both my husband and I enjoyed our meals very much. I could not recommend this place enough and can not wait...

Unfortunately this was one of the worst service experiences I have ever encountered. A group of 7 of us, celebrating my mother's 70th stopped by for a cocktail. We waited an hour and had not received all our drinks. During this time we asked a number of times as to the progress of our order and why the delay, we were told the cocktails take time and that we were not prioritised relative to those already seated and eating. We went to pay for the 5 drinks we received and to cancel those not yet delivered. The waiter, manager, and barman proceeded to shout at us for our impatience and for complaining. The wait was bad, but the response from the staff to our complaints was unacceptable and grossly...
