This place is such a breath of fresh air in Lagos. Sure, there are lots of places to get fancy hamburgers here, and not being much of a hamburger eater, I never pay them much attention but came here on a whim, and left so happy. What a great place.
The food is so well-prepared with a lot of attention to detail and flavours. The burger is cooked to order whichever way you want. And I say try something new, take a chance on their unique choices. I choose the one with banana even if it sounds a bit different, and it was super tasty. You have a choice of fancy buns too, but I stuck with the always reliable brioche. The patties are a perfect size to eat by hand (and I have small hands). No crazy piles of meat and toppings just to make it look cool for Instagram. Here, it seems to be a focus on flavours and enjoyment of eating. But still a good-looking plate too. A special treat was the fries, which finally(!) have seasoning and are cooked so perfectly. It is very rare to find potatoes seasoned with anything except salt in Algarve, so this was awesome. Garlic mayo with the chips was good too. The whole plate tasted so good that it did not need any other condiments. Coffee also was excellent.
Some people were coming in just for desserts which is something I will have to do because they looked so good.
The atmosphere is clean and modern, with only the best 90s/00s throwbacks playing for music. (Honestly, hearing Gangsta's Paradise and Moulin Rouge tunes on the same playlist? Amazing lol.) The staff is very helpful and kind. Everyone just seems to be glad to be there, which makes for a very pleasant experience.
Yes, it is mostly younger people eating there, so if you want some traditional or touristy place with older people, this may not be your scene. But I loved it. Very vibrant and fresh. I will come back often and try...
Read moreWORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN 45 YEARS OF VISITING LAGOS Awful experience. We were a group of six people who walked in and headed for an empty table where we sat down. After a few minutes waiting in a half empty restaurant a young waiter wearing glasses came to us but instead of asking what we would like to order we got a stern telling off. According to him we should have asked him before daring to sit down straight away. He said that no one goes into someone else's house and sits down without permission. I agree with him except for a burger diner is a public place and not a private house. How are we meant to know we should ask? Why not putting up a sign at the entrance asking customers to wait and ask in busy times? The restaurant was half empty though.Does this waiter wait at the entrance of bars, supermarkets and shops until the owner comes to him? It is not accept a ble that six customers get reprimanded for no reason, our only crime was our intention to eat but it looks like this business can spare six customers as well as the money we were ready to pay. Just opposite there is Rei do Petisco, a traditional Portuguese restaurant with high quality products at unbeatable prices. Also down the road there is a grill house in Praça de Armas with the best charcoal grilled chicken in town for less than 10 euros. If you are considering Qwazi my recomendation...
Read moreA chill atmosphere. Nice and accommodating waiter. He advised us that it might take some time for the ice tea as they we’re getting prepared. It’s always nice to know what to expect. My wife and daughter got tempted by the wrap after looking at the menu instead of their burgers. The chicken is of a generous portion and you can choose fries or salad as a side. The chicken is white meat for those who don’t like brown. The loaded fries with cheese and bacon was quite good and tasty. I wasn’t too hungry so got a salad. That’s where they lost some points. The salad wasn’t too fresh and the size a little small. It’s fine for me as I wasn’t hungry so wanted something lite. But they can improve on the size for those who wants to have the salad as a meal. And the freshness of course. This review is more for people who are accompanying a burger lover but want to order and...
