We arrived on a beautiful evening and sat on the terrace that was perfectly lit with little lights on the awning. Our servers were 2 fantastic women who were so accommodating. The delicious food started to arrive and suddenly 4 giant stadium lights switched on and it felt like an operating room. Everyone on the terrace squinted and protested. One server went to ask the manager to return the lighting to its original romantic ambience. He said no. Another couple left. The group next to ours was also in agreement that the lighting was a buzzkill, so I went and personally asked the manager. I received a flat No. He said people could not see their food. Was I not the one dining? This manager is driving away customers with his choices, rudeness and arrogance to me and his staff. Everyone else there was amazing. Hopefully they will figure out and hire someone who understands football stadium lighting is not the best vibe for a sexy...
Read moreOverall good experience. We were sat in a little annex area of the restaurant where the window or door was always open so it was cold (dining in January) , the service was also a little sketchy but the food was good. The pork dish was cooked beautifully, tender not at all dry on a tasty celeriac mash, definitely a must try. Personally I miss the egg on the tartare but it was tasty nonetheless. Minor food gripe was the egg starter (boiled egg with the egg yolk creamed with horesradish) was 1.5 egg portion which seemed a little small for 6 euros, tasted good but felt lacking somehow. Tried a mezcal margarita which was delicious and on the right side of sour vs sweet. In any case the food was good and I imagine if we were sat in the main section we might have had more attentive service and it would have been warmer. I would...
Read moreThe food really needs to improve. The bearnaise broke me. It tasted like it was made with long shelf life cream, thus I am guessing it was made with margerine. I would suggest they add a few Euros to the price and use a better cut of steak. The steak tartar was fine although the bone marrow was forgettable. Fries were good, but again the mayo? Work on the sauces.
The servers were friendly, but not at all knowledgeable about either the menu or the wine list. Serving a red wine at 28c is not ok. The table behind us se t the wine back demanding they chill it which was exactly the same assessment I had for my glass of red.
Provide your staff with proper training and information that a bistro needs to be considered serious. The interior was gorgeous so there is loads of potential, but the food really...
