I went to Coppola Pizzeria yesterday since I thought my friends are there. when I went inside, a waiter (or whoever working there) came behind me and asked what am I looking for and why do we ignore him. I didn’t understand in the beginning but he kept saying “in here, we say hi when we enter a place but you just passed me and walked inside”. I didn’t see this guy in the door - and why would I ignore him if I would see??? its a pizzeria not a club with a bodyguard waiting outside so i just went inside?? then he kept saying “you ignored me i am standing there you can’t ignore me you have to say hi” in a very very aggressive manner and I told him how disrespectful and disgusting this behavior is and left the place. I will never come back only because of this guy on the door and his manners. there was literally no reason for him to talk in this way like trying to start a fight.
this happened yesterday, 18 September. I don’t care if he was having a bad day - i had to do my job with a smiley face even tho i am having a horrible day while working in the same sector. I moved to lisbon nearby coppola this month and you lost me & my environment because of that man, dear Coppola pizzeria.
plus I am happy that my friends were not there but at the next place and I didn’t have to see this...
Read moreWe bought a pizza from this place yesterday, and while waiting for the pizza I went to use the restroom. A waiter rushed into the restroom behind me and asked, “May I help you?” I told her I had bought a pizza (showing the bill) and was going to use the restroom. She scolded and lectured me, saying that if I had made a purchase, I should have informed them first before using the restroom. No smile, no apology—just rudeness.
As for the pizza, it was the worst I’ve had in Lisbon. It looked well-cooked, but the inside of the edges were still raw, and the dough had an undercooked taste. I’ve been living near Praça das Flores for a few years, and I’ve never seen a place treat customers this poorly. They take advantage of the locals and park’s crowd while disrespecting people and serving such bad pizza.
For this price (14 euros) you can get a better pizza and better service anywhere else in Lisbon....
Read moreI’ve enjoyed this restaurant many times over the past couple of years, appreciating the welcoming staff and lively ambiance. However, the food—particularly the pizzas—has become increasingly inconsistent. It seems the pizzaiolos in the back may lack experience with the oven, leading to issues with dough consistency and cooking.
On multiple occasions, I’ve encountered pizzas with overly hydrated dough, resulting in a raw, undercooked base due to insufficient heat at the bottom. Unfortunately, the last two visits this past month were well below average, prompting my 1-star rating.
When pizza makes up 90% of the menu, it’s reasonable to expect consistency and quality, especially with the setup in place. I hope improvements are made, as I’d be willing to give it another shot in the future...
