O Tainadas Restaurante & Bar — Restaurant in Lisbon

We actually wound up at O tainadas by mistake, as we were in search of another recommended restaurant, but our Uber driver dropped us off at the wrong location. We saw several restaurants at this intersection and quickly googled them, seeing that O tainadas had a good amount of positive reviews. So we sat down at an outdoor table and started with a couple of glasses of sangria - red and white. We then had some starters - croquettes and the cheese board...all very tasty. At this point the sky decided to open wide and start pour down rain, so we were moved inside. We continued with more sangria and paella - EXCELLENT! Besides the food, the service at O tainadas was excellent. All of the guys working here were so pleasant and friendly. We had such a good time that when it came to selecting dinner the next day, my wife pushed to return here...which we did. We selected a bunch of new items and again had a fantastic time. We were looking for a place in the area with some tables outside, so that we could enjoy the good weather. The place is small and cute. The waitresses were nice but very slow, even though the place was absolutely empty, it took them ages to serve, even the beverage. Also, we ordered a cup of tea and they brought us the bag of tea on the side and the warm water which was BROWN and smelled like coffee. When we asked the waitress why the water was brown, she said its from the coffee machine and asked if we want to change it... Undoubtedly (and a little shocked by this) we asked to change the water and we got a new glass of water which color was more of a transparent one, but there still was an obvious coffee smell and taste coming from it... The food was very average: The sardines were not tasty, the shrimps were a small portion and absolutely over-cooked and chewy, the bean salad was good. Overall, too expensive for what it offers. We stayed close by and had a drink outside which was very enjoyable and I would highly recommended this there was a amazing atmosphere and the gentle man serving was extremely pleasant and attentive. We decided to to come for our evening meal as our apartment was a few doors up. But this was extremely disappointing. I personally ordered the veg soup and this arrived green with a lemon in it which is something I've never seen but gave it a chance and it was was awful after adding pepper this was the only taste I could taste. This was sent back and was knocked off the bill. The sqiud rings were clearly frozen and deep fried. I wouldn't recommend. 2 out of our party where disappointed but personally i feel it should of been all of us as the main.

1 of the Parry had the goats cheese starter and said this was good. But my personal opinion is I would avoid for food but 100% enjoy...
