Absolutely disgraceful experience – one rude staff member ruined everything
I came here on a Saturday night with my girlfriend, excited to try this bar with a 4.9 rating. At first, everything was fine — the waiter kindly tried to find us two seats at the bar, and the bartender quickly crafted two fantastic cocktails. All was going well.
Then, out of nowhere, the night took a sharp turn. A woman who had been sitting at the edge of the bar earlier came back inside, and apparently felt her spot was taken. Suddenly, the waiter attacked me verbally in a completely unacceptable and aggressive manner. He accused me of not knowing how to behave in bars, claimed I "pushed" the woman toward the edge where there was a plant — all with a tone so humiliating and hostile, I felt deeply insulted and insisted we leave immediately after paying.
To her credit, the bartender realized what had happened, apologized sincerely, and even offered to cover the drinks. I insisted on paying — I wasn’t there for freebies. She kindly gave us two bottled cocktails for the road.
Now, to the rude guy: I’ve had drinks in the world’s best bars — from New York to Dubai — and never have I experienced such rudeness and unprofessional behavior. Let me tell you something: in real bars, people share space. People come and go, step outside, make room, chat with others — it’s a dynamic, flowing environment, not a dinner table. You don’t lash out at a guest trying to navigate that space respectfully.
It’s a real shame that such a beautiful bar with talented bartenders and good vibes can be utterly ruined by one ignorant individual who clearly doesn’t understand hospitality. I come from a very welcoming country, and it was genuinely shocking to be attacked like that in such a place....
Read moreTalking about Lisbon bars, what comes to mind? The typical, cheap drinks, and so on. But this bar is something entirely different. An incredible reflection of a medieval atmosphere at the crossroads of the modern century. It's amazing that there are people who skillfully combine old things with new, understanding the value of each item. Do you know what really surprised me? A chessboard in the middle of the bar. People who come not only to drink alcohol but also to socialize and find common interests. That's what's really valuable today. I would especially like to highlight the alcohol in the bar. On the shelves, you won't find the cheap, typical Portuguese rum or tequila. Instead, you'll get the highest quality alcohol that can be found in Lisbon. The extensive cocktail menu has no limits. You can order cocktails that aren't on the menu, and they will definitely make it for you. Personally, I liked that the bar has a wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks: wines, champagne, beer. The bar is suitable for both lively groups and romantic dates. You can even visit the bar alone, but trust me, you won't remain alone. The bartenders won't let you get bored, and the bar owner, who is always present and oversees everything, ensures that everything runs smoothly. This is what true passion for your...
