Cantina Flores — Restaurant in Lisbon

Really wanted to love this new place but unfortunately the food was a bit of a disappointment.

Had a mix of tacos and quesadillas and tried out a cocktail, watermelon juice and the totopos.

What was good: the tortillas were nice and ‘corny’, the pulled pork was well balanced and smoky and the prawns were well cooked. The totopos were also good, different, but good. The location and atmosphere was great, decor is spot on and the staff were all good. The Watermelon juice was nice and refreshing, good flavours.

What wasn’t so good: the salsas were really poor, they weren’t at all spicy and they tasted a bit weird. If you like a fresh, punchy salsa (like me) then you’ll hate this salsa. It really needs some work and unfortunately let the whole meal down massively. The birria tacos were weird and the beef was flavourless. The chicken was similarly bland. There was almost no chilli to be found anywhere and other spices were generally missing all together. The cocktail was generally just okay,

Overal the food was bland and poorly executed, and most disappointingly let down by some bad salsas. I hope they can sort their food out though because the location and vibe is excellent and it would be great to have a good Mexican...

The most terrible situation that we had in Lisbon restaurants. The stuff was nice and recommended us some food and drinks, saying that they have special Margaritas. Unfortunately I didn’t take a photo but in the end it was glass full of ice and after I took out all ice there was on the bottom like 50 ml of lemon water that you can hardly call it Margarita, especially special Margarita. So we sent the drink back after that the bartender with name Dominic started to explain that this is their way of Margarita and we can ask double portion, but we decided just to skip it. Than we paid the bill and noticed that the drink included to our bill and they didn’t say anything about that. We asked why they did that and normally restaurants and bars don’t do that, the bartender very nervous said that we asked for drink and we received so we have to pay, period. First time in my life I see the situation like that. If I was an owner of the place I would never have this person anymore in my place. We asked the manager and he said that there is no manager today and if we want he can give us discount 50% of that drink. Sorry but this is...

Having moved to Lisbon just two weeks ago from California, we were aching for some mexican food. We wanted to try this place a couple of weeks ago but they were closed so we were glad to see that it was open today (Sunday).

We were the first customers of the day (they opened at 12noon).

The owner was very friendly and nice. The inside was small but has a good vibe. We would have sat outside but it was a bit rainy and cloudy so we didn't want to take chances.

The food was good We really like the chips because they're salty (that's how we liked them in California!). The menu doesn't offer a lot (for example, there are no burritos); hence 4 out 5 stars. However, the tacos we did order (fish, shrimp and beef) were all tasty.

The drinks (sangria and margarita on the rocks) are good and strong.
