Disappointing Experience – Would Not Return
Our group had a reservation at 7:00 PM, and I arrived on time ahead of the rest of the party. To my surprise, the waiter informed me that no reservation existed under our name. Despite politely insisting that we did, we were made to wait outside in the cold. I asked if we could at least use the restroom while we waited, but the waiter curtly responded that the bathroom was closed.
Approximately 5 minutes later, the rest of our group arrived and confirmed that the reservation had indeed been correctly made. At that point, I attempted to use the restroom again—only to find it had been open all along. This level of dishonesty and disregard for guests left a very poor impression.
Unfortunately, the dining experience did not improve from there. The service left a lasting negative impression that made it difficult to enjoy the meal. Compared to the other restaurants we visited during our Lisbon group tour—which included several enjoyable venues with 3-course meals, this was by far the most disappointing.
The food itself was mediocre. Appetizers were underwhelming, the main course lacked flavor, and the dessert—a deconstructed crème brûlée—was barely touched by many at our table.
While I refrained from making a scene at the time, the experience was deeply unsatisfying. I would not return, even if the meal were complimentary. Unfortunately, this was the worst dining experience I had during our...
Read moreWe had the Scallops starter, I knew it would be small but 26 euros is a bit over the top when a main is 30 euros. The scallops were okay, nicely salted but some grit was still present. The cress puree wasn't great that accompanied them, it had a bitter aftertaste. I then had the Veal which was a bit overcooked, I asked for medium rare and it was more medium well, unfortunately no one came to check on us after the food came and I couldn't be bothered to get up and ask for a new piece, just a shame really. The meat was a little underseasoned too, it came in a curry style sauce that was nice but overpowering as it was drenched in it. My partner had the duck which was perfectly cooked, although she wasn't fond of the radish mash/puree on the plate.
Also I can't stress enough how ridiculous it is to come over with the bill and say ''there's one total with a tip and one without a tip, which do you want to pay'' This to me is a style of pressure to encourage tipping and it's silly. I would have tipped but having you come over trying to pressure me into it, then I won't. You should remove this method and you'll get more tips.
Overall considering the price it was disappointing but it's not to say it is a bad restaurant more we had a below...
Read moreMy S.O. and I had lunch here yesterday and I enjoyed the food & wine, the service, and interior design. What needs a lot of attention are the acoustics! There were two men sitting about six feet from us on the same side of the restaurant. They were speaking so loudly (combined with poor acoustics), that my boyfriend and I could hardly hear each other talk. We even asked the server to discreetly ask the two men to tone it down. (We're not sure if that ever happened.) The restaurant was only 15% full...I cannot even imagine what it's like when it's completely full. I would return if they found a way to solve this problem as it really affects the dining experience. It's a shame because everything else was...
