Tozzi Forneria Moderna — Restaurant in Lisbon

tl;dr - So amazing! Great crust, great toppings, you'll love these pizzas.

What we got:

Bombé (Fried pizza dough, with grated grana padano and herbs. Includes grana padano sauce.): Never had this before and it was SO GOOD. Tasted like it was fried, but not too oily at all. Had strong Chinese donut vibes and who doesn't love Chinese donuts! Margarita pizza (Tomato sauce, mozzarella fior di latte, olive oil and fresh basil): The sauce had just the perfect amount of sweetness. It was incredible. Pelega (Shredded lamb with spices, buttery sheep's cheese and mint jelly): The lamb was so tender and quite sweet, which added to a very complex and tasty topping. Tiramisú: Solid flavors, except the bottom layer got too soggy, which made it less appealing. Overall delicious. The portion was gigantic though. Plan accordingly.

The staff were exceptionally kind and friendly to us. The food was seriously delicious, everything we had was gorgeous, but for me the star was the garlic bread with tomato starter. Heavenly.

Meat, vegetarian and vegan options available. For vegan diners, it's one of those places where there aren't a huge array of choices, but what they do they do really, really well!

The owner brought us a little jar of homemade sauce which was great if you like things a little spicy.

My husband and I travel to Lisbon every 12 to 18 months. I don't know if this place was new or if we just hadn't found it before, but we will go back in a heartbeat! Just sorry we only found this place on our last night in...

Good quality pizza in a nice, quiet neighborhood in Lisbon.

Tozzi Forneria Moderna serves a rustic, italian styled pizza with fresh ingredients that closely resemble traditional homemade family recipes.

Their tomato sauce reminds me of those spaghetti bolognese my mom used to make and their inclusion of onion on the Pepperoni pizza really brings up the flavor of the dish.

Their service is quite nice and pleasant and i love that the pizza is very discreetly located in a quiet area around São Sebastião, that makes you search around a bit but ultimately rewards you with a nice, quiet meal in a secluded location away from the busy and noisier city streets and...
