Surprised by the great reviews here... A local friend recommended this place so I stopped by for lunch. I got the Fire Bowl, a "special," which was supposed to have spicy tuna and salmon (it didn't list the other ingredients).

When it came out, I was surprised by the completely strange mishmash of ingredients — tuna, salmon, rice, avocado, somewhat spicy sauce, edamame, radish (all expected & fine), and then there was also mango, pineapple, pomegranate seeds, cherry tomatoes, corn, seaweed, ginger, cabbage, carrot, and dry wasabi peas.

The phrase that came to mind was "everything but the kitchen sink," which is not exactly what I'm looking for in a poke bowl... While the quality of the fish seemed good (the most important factor!), I'm turned off from going...

After a looong day I was on the lookout for some healthy comfort food and went out of my way to make the trip to Hawaii Poke-In. I was given an amazingly friendly and warm welcome despite them clearly having a lot of delivery orders coming in. And I soon discovered why: super fresh ingredients, great portions and balanced flavours all for incredibly reasonable prices. Aside from the flurry of takeaway orders, I was the only one eating in, but don't give that a second thought, just come. And if great food and attentive service wasn't enough, on my way out I was surprised with a parting gift: a full takeaway poke bowl.
