Huang He, situated on the bustling Avenida de Berna, offers an ‘all you can eat’ experience that brings the diverse tastes of Asia to your plate. This restaurant promises an array of Asian cuisines with a focus on Chinese dishes and a sushi selection.

Culinary Offerings

The sushi at Huang He is decent; while it may not stand out in a city with a plethora of sushi options, it holds its own with fresh, if not particularly inventive, offerings. It’s a solid choice for those looking to satisfy a sushi craving within the scope of an all-you-can-eat deal.

Where Huang He really shines, however, is in its Chinese cuisine. The dishes display a mastery of traditional flavors and techniques that are sure to please enthusiasts of authentic Chinese fare. The menu’s variety allows for a delightful exploration of different tastes and ingredients.

Special Mentions

A standout dish deserving special mention is the shrimp coated in crispy almonds. This dish is a true delight, combining the succulent juiciness of the shrimp with the crunchy, nutty texture of the almonds. It’s a testament to the kitchen’s ability to elevate simple ingredients into something memorable.

Meats and More

The meats at Huang He, including their beef and chicken offerings, are tender and well-seasoned. They provide a satisfying richness to the meal, complementing the lighter sushi options. The quality of these dishes speaks to the careful selection of ingredients and the skillful preparation that the restaurant prides itself on.

Atmosphere and Service

The atmosphere at Huang He is what you might expect from an all-you-can-eat establishment: functional and designed to accommodate the steady flow of diners. The service is efficient, with an emphasis on ensuring that diners’ plates are never empty for long.

Overall Experience

Huang He is a restaurant that offers value and variety, especially for diners with a hearty appetite for Chinese cuisine. While the sushi may not be the main draw, it’s a competent addition to a menu that excels in other areas. It’s a place worth visiting for those in the area seeking a casual dining experience with a focus on Chinese dishes and an excellent all-you-can-eat option.

Recommendation

For anyone visiting Huang He, I recommend indulging in the Chinese dishes, particularly the almond-coated shrimp. It’s a dining experience that promises satisfaction and a pleasant departure from the mundane, particularly for lovers of Asian cuisine looking for a comfortable, no-frills dining...

Amazing food and amazing customer service.

First, the amazing food. A large and well made variety of seafood, poultry, meat, sashimi, sushi. Try the Peking duck rolls, woods ear fungus (tasty and great for the heart!), and shrimp done in all different ways!

Second, the staff. They are all long serving and very friendly and accommodating. I brought my wheelchair bound father there and there is no shortage of appropriate seating or wheelchair accessible toilets. They take away the plates promptly, and always do it with a smile. I even witnessed a waiter giving a small child a lollipop.

Over the years this place has proven itself to be consistently well run and well worth going back...

DON’T.

I was craving Chinese food and went there last night, a Sunday. You can do better via a supermarket.

The best thing: A bottle of Tsing Tao beer.

The rest: portions were adequate. No Hot & Sour soup on the menu. Instead they recommended the Spicy soup which was mediocre and gloopy.

Main course: Sweet and Sour Pork and a dish of vegetables served with a large bowl of orange goo. Everything was tepid. The pork was fatty and unremarkable. Likewise the vegetables.

Staff were pleasant and attentive.

A mark of a good Chinese restaurant is that Chinese people eat there. Not one was present. The place filled up rapidly at 8pm. I advise avoiding the crush simply by not...

Super affordable (14,5€ per person) buffet with plenty of delicious, good quality food. The restaurant is lively and has an amazing atmosphere. The only downside is the drinks price. 2,60€ for a beer is a bit steep, specially of you're on the buffet and need constant refills. All in all, Huang He is an excellent, wallet friendly asian food restaurant with a lot of 'bang for your buck'. If you enjoy asian food, you won't be dissapointed.
