Italian Republic — Restaurant in Lisbon

I am very sad to leave this review, but feel compelled to do so, so that other potential customers are averted away from this place. I ordered a spinach and parmesan soup which was literally hot water, grated parmesan and finely chopped, still raw, spinach, swimming in heavy cream. The main dish was a great disappointment as well. The girelli was about 4 strands of tagliatelle, swirled in coils, with bland, boiled spinach in the middle. The whole dish was covered in probably a whole head of cheese, with three halved, raw cherry tomatoes, so disappointingly bland, so tasteless. My partner's dish, the orange duck risotto, was just as tasteless, and also came with different ingredients that what was stated, for example, chives instead of parsley, and no orange. The staff is lovely and super polite, and I'm sure they are tired of hearing this feedback from customers, so with this review I'm hopeful that management takes...

An international-marketed restaurant in the middle of touristic attraction yet they were so insistent on having miscommunications with us. Now I don't say every waiter has to speak English but if you already have English speaker personal why not direct them to me, another English speaker, instead of the Porteguese speaker? They send non-English speaker, naturally he can't understand us ( I totally sympathize with him) and take wrong order, then another one who speaks English comes, we think we fix the situation but no. We circled around a lot. They really love to give their tourist customers anxiety of miscommunication or... maybe they didn't simply like us.

Plus Neither the portion nor the taste of pasta is not worth the price......

What a superb dining experience at Italian Republic (Rua Tomás da Anunciação)! The whole meal was suggested by the restaurant’s manager, Maycon, and we sure were treated to a delicious journey! carpaccio + pão com alho risotto + pasta with seafood (linguini pescattore) pavlova + petit gateau red Duas Quintas + limoncello Our handsome and attentive waiter, Lucas, was very articulate and smooth describing the creative process. Very inviting space and convenient location. My guest, artist Yasmin Guimaraes, was as impressed by it. I will certainly return and recommend anyone looking for high quality...
