Novo Mundo — Restaurant in Lisbon

First time I bookmarked this restaurant I was excited to one day visit. Which I unfortunately ended up doing. We were two for lunch. On arrival (at 12h50) the server informed they had no mains, just sandwiches (which were bizarrely on the mains list). This was a huge disappointment but we said why not. Big red flag number two. Number one was the fact the restaurant was EMPTY not one person inside or outside. I ordered a chicken club sandwich which was good taste wise (even though it was not packed with the usual stacks of ingredients, quite the contrary) but it was SO SMALL, literally 2 skewers (yes) with two bite sized sandwiches wich measured around 7cm by 7cm. Ridiculous. Absolute madness imo. My friend had the burger which was soggy and grey. The fries? Oh another tiny tiny portion of chips (not fries) that were flimsy and old. We each had non alcoholic beverages (which were good). We paid 52€ with a discount, yes 52 Euros. This review is about the garden side of the bar / restaurant. It’s surprising that a place with such a prime location in Lisbon can afford to neglect its business so much. The garden area is beautiful, but the service is severely lacking. The staff seem more interested in chatting among themselves at the bar than attending to the outdoor tables. Basic training is clearly missing – from taking orders promptly to making decent cocktails and coffee. On top of that, the food quality is disappointing. Par où commencer... Nous arrivons au restaurant avec réservation (20h), nous attendons 15min dans l'allée à attendre qu'on nous prenne en charge pour nous installer (20h15). Jusque-là un peu long mais ça va on prend sur nous on était là pour passer un bon moment et fêter un anniversaire. On nous installe sur le côté loin de tout le monde..., on prend nos plats, nous demandons 2 vins moelleux nous recevons 2 vins secs... (20h20) Nous continuons de prendre sur nous. Nous demandons des plaids voyant que les serveurs en apportaient aux autres clients, nous redemandons à un autre serveur voyant qu'il n'arrive pas (20h25). On continue de prendre sur nous Nous étions positionné près de la fontaine et avec le vent frais de l'eau nous arrivait dessus c'est pourquoi nous avons demandé a être décalé a l'intérieur ce qui n'a posé aucun problème (20h50 et toujours pas servi). Le temps passe les tables à côté de nous sont vite servis mais toujours rien. Nous avions pas été servis en eau et nous avions froid à l'intérieur nos plaids aillant été repris nous en redemandions on nous en fourni 1/2. Toujours pas de nouvelles de nos plats nous demandons où ils en sont mais rien pas de réponse concrète (21h15). Une serveuse vient prendre notre commande ?!?!??? Donc : 1 nous attendons dans le vide nos plats depuis plus de 1h 2 imaginions que personne ait pris notre commande ce n'est que au bout de 1h qu'on vient la prendre Dans les 2 cas c'est lamentable Commande ENFIN réellement prise nous attendons... 21h40 nos plats arrivent Repas très bon. Pour "s'excuser" nos vins nous ont été déduit de l'addition. C'est DOMMAGE le cadre est sympa, proche de notre logement, les plats sont bon mais le service laisse très fortement à désirer.
