Conqvistador may appear to be a typical tourist restaurant, located right next to the Castle. However, it does not suffer from the usual shortcomings of tourist places: the food here is truly good. I have tried octopus, a Portuguese specialty, at several restaurants in Lisbon, including expensive and high-end ones. I can confidently say that the octopus at Conqvistador was the best among all. We enjoyed a bottle of Portuguese Albariño, which was fresh, crispy and nice. There were street musicians adding to the ambiance, and the overall experience was simply perfect. Although I did not have high expectations for a place like this, I was pleasantly surprised to receive so much more than what I would expect from an upscale restaurant. Read moreWe had quite the disappointing experience at this place ( Bar Vinoteca Conqvistador; They are together with the Restaurante Conqvistador ) in Portugal. When I went inside to politely point this out, the staff member, who was already less than friendly, shrugged it off and said I should complain to the person who actually served us, as he wasn’t the one who poured the beer. The lack of accountability, along with their rudeness, made for a terrible experience. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone—rude staff, poor service, and zero attention to...

The olives arrived but with no fork or spoon, (no worries about that) We waited for 30 mins so we asked again for the soup he said that another 15 mins were required. As the place started to be empty, we stood up and said we needed to leave since we were waiting for 45 mins for the “soup of the day”. The waiter said he didn’t understand we ordered the soup and said sorry. (He did understand since the couple next to us we were complaining about how long they were taking for our soup as they already finished their meal) We left. Really...
