Hermitage Castelo - Casa Saint Jorge — Hotel in Lisbon

These apartments are almost entirely 5-star experiences, but there are a couple of glaring issues that, for me , lowered the rating to 4 star. First the great parts: The location is incomparable, wonderful! Our apartment was immaculately outfitted, decorated and cleaned. The breakfast delivery works flawlessly, arriving magically outside your door before 8:00AM every morning. Therefore, we had a totally wonderful time at this accommodation. However, there were two problems, both of which can be easily fixed by management: First, the maid service was very inconsistent and unreliable. On our first day, the apartment was cleaned while we were out touring, no problem. Our next day, a maid knocked on our door at 4:30pm, wanting to clean our apartment just as we arrived home from an exhausting day. The next two days, no one showed up at all. Consequently, our trash piled up in the kitchen to a ridiculous point, towels weren't freshened up, additional coffee and water weren't delivered. Our other gripe was with the electronic key system the is used: This works fine once you install it on your phone, but the installation process is very tedious. Also, installation is only available the day before your arrival so, if you are on vacation, you will find yourself wasting an hour or more of your time at an earlier stop on your trip wrestling with this installation. We stayed with Hermitage Castelo at Casa Chafariz - Santos in April of 2023 and were so impressed we booked them again for our 2025 trip. This time we had the pleasure of staying at the St Jorge property. I did not think I could be even more impressed than the first time we stayed, but I was. Hermitage is an absolute class act. Every employee treats you with respect and kindness. They are so patient, answering a million questions and understanding about travel plans. The Saint Jorge Castelo property is my new favorite. The unit was IMMACULATE! The space is calm and large and bright. SO much room and they provide everything you can possibly need during your stay. Fully stocked kitchen, a super comfortable bed and beautiful linens. Plenty of towels and the room is refreshed everyday! I stayed in 3B and although the stairs are a task, I could not have been more happy with the spectacular views! The bathrooms are large with plenty of space for toiletries. The room has a whole closet organizer and drawers for all of your personal items. The breakfast delivery they provide is a must as it starts your day with much needed fuel for walking around the city. Also, their driver service is top notch! Do not hesitate to book this property.
