I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Miradouro do Chao do Loureiro, and I must say, it was a highlight of my trip to Lisbon! This hidden gem offers some of the most spectacular panoramic views of the city.
The first thing that struck me was the accessibility. Located right in the heart of Lisbon, it's easy to reach on foot or by public transportation. Once you arrive, the charming little square welcomes you with its cozy atmosphere and outdoor seating. It's a perfect spot to take a break, enjoy a coffee, and soak up some sun.
But the real star here is the view. As you look out from the miradouro, you'll be treated to a breathtaking vista of Lisbon's historic neighborhoods, including the iconic Alfama district. The view stretches out over the terracotta rooftops, with the majestic São Jorge Castle in the background. It's an Instagrammer's dream come true!
I visited both during the day and in the evening, and each time offered a unique experience. During the day, you can appreciate the intricate architecture and vibrant colors of the buildings below. At night, the city comes alive with sparkling lights, creating a romantic and enchanting atmosphere.
The best part? This spot is not as crowded as some of the other viewpoints in the city, so you can truly savor the moment and take some fantastic photos without feeling rushed.
Whether you're a solo traveler, a couple seeking a romantic spot, or a family looking for a great view of Lisbon, Miradouro do Chao do Loureiro is an absolute must-visit. It's a serene and picturesque spot that captures the essence of this beautiful city. Don't miss out on this...

There is an elevator to get up here as there is a supermarket on the ground floor and it services the car park but it was out of order when we were here . Using the stairs to go down is an experience on its own . ( hold your nose on the way down as it stinks of urine but fantastic if you love to photograph graffiti) . Nice looking restaurant on the roof but was closed on the day so can’t comment on...
