My husband and I had a wonderful and very memorable dining experience here. We were greeted warmly at the door from the start by a young lady host who seated us at a front table by the stage. The male host let me tried 3 wines until I am happy with a choice. I felt bad for being picky but he didn’t mind at all and was graceful about it. The 3 course meal was so delicious and they were served like a fine dining. The Fado music performance was special and moving. It was the highlight of the night and for my Portugal experiences. I had initially expected only woman fado singer in Lisbon and was pleasantly surprised that there was another male singer as well. At the end they both sing duo. I thought it’s a very well balanced of song choices and performers.
I later found out that it was a family run business by a dad, a mom and their lovely daughter. The dad who hosted also played the Portuguese guitar and with deep emotion while the mom sing her heart out. Their performance look professional and were beautiful to watch and felt moving and soulful. They and the staff team are very warm and friendly to talk to. We were enjoying the entire time. We feel very lucky to have found this special place and they deserve many more...
Read moreMy wife and I had one of the best experiences - and most memorable highlights of our lives - at Restaurante Senhora do Fado. From the moment we arrived, it felt like being welcomed into a warm family home. The food was absolutely incredible, easily among the best meals we’ve ever had.
Owners Luisa and Guillermo, along with their lovely daughter Laura, treated us like family. They made my birthday extra special with front row seats and a thoughtful surprise toward the end of the evening. The Fado show was phenomenal - Guillermo is an incredible Portuguese guitar player, and Luisa’s voice was absolutely captivating. The other performer and guitar player was also outstanding. Every performance was filled with emotion and artistry, making it one of the best live shows we’ve ever seen.
Laura and the rest of the staff were attentive, engaging, and made the entire evening feel personal and heartfelt. Our utmost gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Luisa, Laura, and Guillermo for the unforgettable experience and warm hospitality. This is more than a dinner - it’s an experience you will carry with you forever. Your trip to Lisbon will be more complete and meaningful if you experience a show here. Don’t look anywhere else - highly...
Read moreI wanted to love this experience, but being held captive with the promise of eventually getting your first drink (1.25 hours after sitting down) and eventually some average food (2.5 hours after sitting down) and finally the check (4.5 hours after sitting down) I have to give this place a gigantic two thumbs down. Really. Everyone else in the restaurant shared the same experience. The signing and music sessions were entertaining but they only amounted to 30 minutes of the experience, so it’s not like 4.5 hours to wait to drink and eat and pay are justified here. They say they want you to feel like family when you leave, and I guess you kind of do in the way that a group of people suffers being held captive together for five hours can feel like family. The head server had to be asked 3 times for everything with half hour intervals between asking. And, almost to a sociopathic degree, he acted like he had never been asked for anything at all - ever before. The concept of a fado house is great. Just don’t go...
