Went to eat here with hubby this afternoon as we missed Indian food while travelling (I’m ethnically Indian and cook a lot of Indian food).
We shared all dishes. We ordered masala papadum (nice appetizer to share), chicken tikka (beautifully creamy and very tasty), lamb vindaloo (very tasty and also included a few potatoes), hubby had a basket of peshwari naan (took pic with only 1 left in basket but there were about 4), and rice. We also had the papadum with chutney which our waiter, Shabir, gave us. Each of the three sauces - spicy, mango, mint, was even better than the ones we had in restaurants in England.
I had a one-of-a-kind lime drink that was very very refreshing. Husband had a plain yoghurt lassi (nice).
The prices were extremely reasonable and the food and was very good. The best was our young waiter, Shabir, who was very friendly and we had a nice conversation with him while eating. His service was excellent.
We highly recommend this place if you are looking for Indian food in Portugal or looking for a place to eat good food at reasonable prices.
We sat outside, overlooking the road and it was comfortable in temperature and also there were no flies or anything that bothered us. If we have a chance, we would come back again...

My experience at Royal Spice Indian Restaurant in Lisbon was truly exceptional. From the moment I entered, I was welcomed with warm hospitality. A special mention goes to Sapana, who was incredibly kind and attentive. She’s been in Portugal for two years and speaks both English and Portuguese fluently, which made communication a breeze. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed meal.
The menu features a wide range of authentic Indian dishes, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious. The chicken was rich and full of flavor, while the naan was perfectly baked. The spices were expertly balanced, making each bite a delight.
The service was outstanding—attentive without being overbearing. The staff were well-versed in the menu and offered great recommendations. The portions were generous, and the prices were very fair considering the very high quality of the food.
In summary, Royal Spice is a true gem in Lisbon for anyone seeking authentic Indian cuisine. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend...
Read moreI don’t know how to say that this is the best Indian food I’ve had without just… saying it. Papadum was perfect (mango chutney changed my life???) and light, not oily at ALL (a constant problem I find?) and the naan was like a cloud that could be an angel’s pillow. Perfect, fresh garlic, amazing both hot and cold. Chicken tikka was so well-balanced and actually medium spiced (I’m VERY white and I feel like it’s assumed I can’t take heat which… okay, TRUE sometimes but I want a zing with my chicken tikka masala!)
Service was wonderful, everyone was lovely and were expeditious with the food but let us enjoy our meal.
I don’t know what else to say, go here. An insanely large menu, great drinks, friendly and attentive staff. Atmosphere is chill, a vibe without being pretentious, y’know?
We had such a great time, I highly recommend.
Total bill with a bottle of wine (chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, palak paneer, rice) was...
