Probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at!
As an older traveller who has stayed in all types of accommodation from five stars to minus stars, I can honestly say this is a superb place to stay. It is not a party hostel so look elsewhere if you want that, but this hostel just gets so many things right!…
Every guests gets a tour of the hostel, I’ve never had that before, anywhere! It’s such a lovely touch, if unexpected, with more information than you can possibly remember. In dorms, the beds are comfortable with privacy curtains and useful sockets, light and fan, plus individual lockers with keys. There are numerous bathrooms and it’s the first hostel I’ve stayed at which has some private shower and toilet rooms, which makes things so much more pleasant. My only feedback is please provide some more hooks or shelves in the bathrooms, there’s not much space to put things when getting ready.
Breakfast is excellent. Although there’s no hot food, there is lots of everything else, better than you’d find in most hostels anywhere, you’ll certainly not feel hungry. Also, serving breakfast until 11am with a 12noon checkout as standard, shows that the owners of this hostel really understand the needs of travellers.
The location is excellent, you can travel anywhere easily and the ground floor of the hostel is full of excellent information on Lisbon and Portugal, with information and activities. The hostel also has something fun every evening, ranging from a free milkshake to free tapas, depending on the night. What a lovely thing to do, really excellent!
Staff are all superb, friendly and helpful. They work really hard and you can see that they care about the guests too.
I strongly recommend this hostel to anyone, of any age, looking for a non-party hostel. You can expect a comfortable stay with a good night’s sleep, great breakfast and staff who...
Read moreA girlfriend and I decide to stay here for our weekend in Lisboa. My girlfriend miss the flight so I arrived here alone. When we booked the bedroom all the reviews were great so we decided it was perfect. We booked a private room for 200€ so we thought it would have good quality after taking a look of the pictures. But it was nor the situation. When I arrived there late and tired they made me pay everything and they started showing me around. The lady explain to me that where was the breakfast room and she told me that I must clean my dishes by myself after the breakfast. I was pretty shocked, it is apparently something normal in this kind of hostel but there was absolutely no information in their website about this, nothing. Something they should inform. I decided to give a chance until they show me room. Was a dirty place, old, the wc was loosing water (nothing ecologist) I found hairs in the pillows , the towels were broken and old. For me was pretty shocking because of the good comments and the high prices. Didn’t expect that for 200€ . I was pretty tired so I decided to stay there until next day and book me another bedroom in another hotel because it was pretty disgusting. When i told them next morning about it, the owner didn’t even offer to pay back anything, no, she threatened me to report me to Booking because I didn’t inform about who dirty was this place. Such a nice lady , who didn’t even apologise and was pretty cocky. Attached the pictures just judge by yourself. But for sure i will not even recommend this to myself when i was 18 years old. But most of it because this...
Read moreYou know one of those underrated places? This is one of them. I couldn’t recommend it enough. Europe isn’t exactly known for warm service, but not here—this was by far the friendliest and most helpful staff I encountered during my entire vacation across several European countries.
I was shown around the entire hostel, and everything I needed to know was clearly explained. There was also plenty of information posted on the boards. The bedrooms were clean, spacious, and private. Even with curtains, it didn’t feel too warm. Very quiet, too.
If I’m being honest, I think the storage could be bigger—but that’s just a minor detail. There were plenty of bathrooms, and I loved that they were outside the rooms, with both toilet and shower included. Lots of common areas to hang out as well.
The included breakfast was probably one of the best I’ve had at any hostel—and most hostels don’t even offer free breakfast. I also had a lovely chat with a lady who I think might be the owner. I felt super safe and really well taken care of. I’ll definitely stay here every time I come to Lisbon.
I also booked a trip to Sintra with them. Personally, I didn’t enjoy it that much, but the guide was such a genuinely kind person that I even feel bad saying anything negative. I just think the tour itself wasn’t quite worth it.
Ohhhh the free tour is probably the best tour I ever had!!! Yellow umbrellas! They have the info in the reception.
Summary: You guys rock! Wishing you...
