Taberna Ti Camila — Restaurant in Lisbon

I’ve never felt the need to review a restaurant before, but my experience here was so unbelievably poor that I feel compelled to do my only ever google review to warn people about this venue.

Everything seemed fine at first, the restaurant was slightly busy with one big group. We had no issue with the longer wait for food we were advised about. Surprisingly, the food came out quick despite being told of a 30 minute wait.

My partner, a vegetarian, ordered the vegetarian burger. She was horrified to bite into a BEEF BURGER. Also noting, the burger looked incredibly sad on its on. After taking it back she received a vegetarian burger (despite not wanting one after losing her appetite). Pretty shocking mistake to say the least! They also tried to charge us for this!

Now onto my meal, I ordered the cod fish salad. Quite possibly the worst 11 euros I’ll ever spend. Tiny portion, no seasoning, fish completely over cooked and full of bones and massive chunks of raw onion in the salad.

the one positive, sangria (though a bit pricey) was nice.

Completely ignored my two waitresses, grabbed menus from another table and decided what we wanted, it was 11.40am so it was the breakfast/brunch menu, looked appetising but took us a long time to get attention, in fact we didn't - even though my dad spoke to them in Portuguese, it took someone on the next table waving her hand in the air at them to get them to come over only to say they were no longer doing breakfast. I explained we'd been waiting for order for 10 mins (it was still before 12) and she just said "we're not doing breakfast anymore" she seemed quite stressed so I guess they were overstaffed and ignoring people on purpose so they didn't have to serve breakfast anymore. Waste of our time and we were really hungry... could have just told us when we sat down that we weren't getting breakfast there. Won't be returning so can't comment on the food, many places with much...

Apparently, Ordering Just One Thing Is a Crime Here

Visited on Friday afternoon, June 13th. Ah, what a charming experience it was—to be subtly shamed for daring to order just one portion of chicken wings to go. It costs my EIGHT EURO. Truly, how dare we not order a feast to earn the honor of basic respect?

While we were waiting to pay, we had the absolute privilege of overhearing a male staff member complaining about us to the kitchen staff. He even pointed at us while doing so—because clearly, discussing customers behind their backs (within earshot!) is part of the premium service here.
