Lisbon Best Choice Apartments — Hotel in Lisbon

We spent just over a week in one of the St. Estevão apartments and loved the quiet square the building is located in. Very beautiful with the church above and all the small quaint streets close by leading to small restaurants, the castle etc. Dependent on agility, be aware that there are steep stairs leading to the square... did not matter to us but may to others. The front of house staff of this apartment company are amazing and from booking to check-in were very very helpful. However we found the apartment itself to be a little underwhelming. The pictures do not quite match with reality. Some routine maintenance was needed: door hanging off a kitchen unit, black mold/paint peeling in the bathroom (not awful but needed addressing) etc. The apartment was compact which was expected but “decorator” items took up space unnecessarily. It lacked drawer /useful storage space so it was very difficult to organize for a longer stay and there were only two of us not four! The bedroom is extremely small but two improvements would help significantly 1. Hooks or pegs to hang items in there, 2. The bedside lights only turn off from the main light switch which is by the door. Finally the bed mattress is definitely in need of changing.... one spring in particularly made it’s mark every night. It is also a very hard mattress just in case you...

We had a nice week in Lisbon - and we have stayed in the hart of the city , in Alfama. The location is quite in front of Museo do Fado, surrounded by coffee shops and family small restaurants. In the evening the Fado music it surrounds you, each restaurant offers some piece of it. The food is wonderful and very diversified. But the people are the ones who makes the difference. I have travel maybe not so much as others these days, when it seems the world is moving all the time. But still, this was my best experience; we have had a holiday at the end of August, and the weather was absolutely nice, not too hot. Even the city was full of tourists the people are exceptional. Everybody is keen to help you and to make your stay a memorable one. Starting with the Uber drivers - and the service is very good, the waiters in each coffee shop or terrace, the people on the streets...We had a real holiday, and we are grateful we had the chance to be here. The apartment was nice, very clean and we had all facilities we need. See you...

I will remember a long time the smell of the sofa. Really stinky. The flat is really small (ceiling around 2m10) so the photos doesn't give a real view of its size. Window of the 1st floor apartment gives on a park for children opened from 9am to 22pm on summer. So you may have headache while staying in your place if it's full of kids like it was on our 2 first days on 4. The washing machine doesn't have fast program and you will have to be ingenious to dry your clothes (some of my t shirt will also remember the same stinky odour of the sofa).
