My first Google review. I ordered the chicken toast which there is no mention of nuts and nowhere on the menu does it say that there is pesto drizzled all over it. I clarified in English and Portuguese that I had a very series allergy to pine nuts and she reassured me there would be nuts of any kind on my sandwich. When my food arrived there was a green sauce dribbled all over it. I asked my wife to try it to make sure it wasnât pesto, she tried it and said it was 100% pesto. I then asked the server again if there was nuts in the pesto and she went and checked with the kitchen. After their back and forth she then informed me that the kitchen didnât look at the âticketâ she put in and she didnât double check either. âSorryâ If I had trusted her after the clear instructions in English and Portuguese, plus the assurance I received from her that there would be no nuts. I wouldâve been in anflactic shock and rushed to the hospital where hopefully I wouldnât die on my my last few days of Vacation. I have NEVER had this happen in 15 years of travelling to multiple cities and countries. They offered to make it again which I obviously declined. I went outside while my wife finished her meal. They still had the audacity to charge her full price after trying to kill me.(At least they didnât charge for mine) Avoid this place at ALL cost if you have any sort of allergies, not to mention their poor customer service after there major mistake. I still canât believe that happened and was happy I didnât allow them to ruin to my first...
Read moreI visited the cafĂ© today 04/Oct at 1:06pm with my husband, and while the food was delicious and the coffee was good, I unfortunately had an unpleasant interaction with the waitress who took our order. The male server who seated us was fantastic, very welcoming and attentive but when my food was brought, the hashbrown listed on the menu as âgluten-free hashbrownâ was missing. As the waitress passed by, I politely asked about it, and then clarified, âExcuse me, gluten free hashbrown, yes?â Her response, as she walked away, was loud and dismissive: Hashbrowns are already gluten free. This was said in front of other customers, which left me feeling embarrassed.
My husband wanted to respond to her tone, but I told him no because I didnât want to embarrass her in front of the other customers. I could already see she was under pressure that time, as she had also forgotten to bring the next tableâs bread, and I believe that stress might have caused her to lash out unintentionally. Still, I would have appreciated if she spoke to me in a calm and respectful manner instead of raising her voice.
Iâm not the type to leave bad reviews, and I donât want to be unfair. The cafĂ© itself has a lovely atmosphere, the food and coffee were excellent, and the waiter who seated us provided wonderful service. I just hope this feedback helps management bring more awareness to customer interactions, so that no one else leaves feeling embarrassed. I believe the waitress simply needs more support and awareness so situations like this donât...
Read moreWe were very excited to check this place out after seeing syrniki on their menu and we were not disappointed. We visited two different locations in Lisbon. For breakfast, we got turkish eggs, greek yogurt bowls, vanilla lime latte, tiramisu latte, and earl grey tea. Everything was delicious and perfect way to start the day. If you enjoy plain lattes, you may find the flavored ones a little sweet but they were still delicious! The second location we visited for lunch. Amazing services. Everyone was sweet and caring. We were super excited to try the syrniki and were not disappointed. They were served with smetana and mango. Absolutely delicious. As well, we got the shrimp mango salad and burrata salad. Both were fresh and a great light savory meal. For drinks, we had espresso tonic, cherry lime lemonade, and peach matcha lemonade. Absolutely enjoyed everything!! ( this location didnât have syrniki...
