Good food but small portions and overpriced! Nearly got gassed out!
Me and my friend decided to have a Sunday brunch and was trying out this place as our first choice had a long queue outside. Still, we queued up for about half an hour to get into this place (to be fair, not as bad as some other people had to wait). Still, I don’t like queuing up for food anyway. What’s the fuss about brunch places in Lisbon? We just need more brunch places! The good thing is that they give out menus when we were waiting so that we could order straight away when we had a table. Win win situation there! This worth a star.
We ordered a course to share plus an extra main. The course costs €17, includes a hot drink, a glass of juice, a main and a sweet bowl. Everything looks quite beautiful and taste good, but the portions were a letdown, for me it is the mains, but for my friend, the juice and the sweet bowl. In the main, only one thin piece of toast with toppings (spread with eggs/fish/meat). I think if a brunch dish cost over €10, it should be more substantial and filling, because that’s supposed to cover two meals for the day! So this is one star less. As for the juice, it was small glass and the desert bowl was actually a small half-global shape glass. We were expecting a proper bowl, because the price on its own for the bowl is something like €4-5, same for the juice. Another point, they serve a jar of water for each table, which was supposed to be a nice gesture, however, they put cinnamon sticks in the water, just assuming everyone likes it. My friend actually hates cinnamon!
And what cost them another star from me was they way they clean the tables. The tables are very close to each other considering the small space they have inside the restaurant. Not to mention we had to put up with loud noise from next table of 4, when they left, a waitress sprayed a cleaning product 5-6 times on that table top, but in a direction towards us! We all know how liquid molecules travels! She could have stood back to us and used her body to shield between our tables. We are still eating and had to endured the strong chemical smell that flowing from the next table. How unpleasant!! Nearly lost our appetite. It could be toxic! Then, 5-10mins later, the guests on our left land side left, the waitress did the same thing again on the other table! We were ‘attacked’ by this horrible chemical smell from both sides! This is not the extra garnish we wanted for our food.
Not sure if we will go back there again. I hope they find a better way to clean the tables and offered alternative for the cinnamon...
Read moreA-MA-ZING! 10/10, honestly.
The service was super sweet and we felt incredibly welcomed. We ordered a Matcha Mania and a Banana Bread and let me tell you - it was the best banana bread I've ever had. You get it on a plate with homemade peanut butter, a few slices of banana sprinkled with black sesame. The combination of the incredible banana bread with the peanut butter is otherworldly + the freshness of the banana is the cherry on top. Matcha Mania had a very unique and well blended taste - the bitterness of the Matcha really complimented the raw cacao and the coconut milk and I loved how not-sweet it was, especially in combination with the banana bread.
We also got a jug of Cinnamon infused water for free that my boyfriend loved.
Had a lovely chat with the woman that took our order and she even gave me the recipe for the banana bread!
Couldn't have chosen a better Café to sit down. Great catering. Great service. Really lovely ambiance and location. We will come back!
EDIT: We did come back on our last day specifically to have breakfast and it hit my personal taste so much I couldn't be happier. Had the Portuguesinha Salad and my boyfriend the Avocado Toast. In love. 10/10. The goat cheese? Insane. You taste the quality of the ingredients. Perfectly blended tastes. The pear, the radish. The dressing, the walnuts. It's honestly to die for. Never been to any Café better than this one. MUST VISIT when...

A massive highlight if my Lisbon trip! Can recommend this fabulous eatery enough!!
I could wax lyrical about the fresh, insanely flavourful, well thought out and well prepared food. But I just eat..
° Fresh local ingredients. ° Tasty cinnamon water on the table. ° Varied and interesting menu. ° Lovely atmosphere, decor & music. ° Happy smiley, knowledgeable & attentive staff. ° Busy at 13:00 but worth waiting 10 mins.
° Vibrant fruity sparkling sangria. The best I've had in a long time. Interesting and different.
Elaborated with Porto, Cointreau, honey, and natural wine, serves with fruits, cinnamon & fresh mint.
° Cheese and meat platter. My favorite, so different. ..
The Pumpkin jam tastes like honey and mangoes. Home made pumpkin jam & home made cream cheese. Olive oil from olives that only grow in a specific region in between Spain and Portugal. Award winning cheese. Amanteigado and a mix of cow and goat. Serano ham and other meat.. Vibes!!!
° The Bacalhau & co Salad. A perfect balance of flavours.
Fresh green leaf salad with radish, cucumber, orange Supremes, carrot croutons & serves with grilled cod fish over homemade almond cream.
