Restaurante Gil Vicente — Restaurant in Nazaré

I went on a trip to Nazare to celebrate the reunion with one of my best friends after 15 years and came across this place before heading out for drinks at the local bars. The food was fresh, tasty and delicious! We ordered fish soup, a portion of mixed olives, some local cheese, bread and a couple of beers as we didn’t want anything heavy before going for drinks. However, other tables were ordering fish, vegetables, desserts and wine and it all looked amazing!. Their selection of wines looked excellent so if you’re into wine you’ll enjoy it then.

The service, the person who looked after us - I presume he was the manager or owner- made us feel like at home, like if we knew each other for a long time making our dinner a very pleasant experience. we valued that a lot.

The price, it’s definitely affordable and portions are great so I’d say good value for money.

Pay them a visit if you’re hanging around the beautiful Nazare, you’ll hopefully...

What an amazing find in Nazare. Last year we had tried to go and eat at this quaint eatery but they were closed for holidays. This year we made it. Fantastic food and a great find. This little eatery serves up some of the finest dishes in Nazare. Just a stones throw away from the brushing marginal but well worth it. Make a reservation because it has limited seating. And that’s how everyone loves it. I had classic sardines grilled. And my wife had tuna on the grill Tuna was locally sourced and to die for. So delicious and perfectly done. Sardines were amazing. On June 2, 2023 my husband and I had lunch at this restaurant...what a hidden gem. The food was absolutely delicious. We both had the salmon which just melted in your mouth best salmon we have ever tasted. The staff were extremely polite and efficient. We are Canadian but I was born in Terceira. One of the islands in the Acores and the owner and his daughter were so welcoming and went out if their way to ensure we had the best experience. We met another American couple at the next table who also raved about how delicious their meals were. And the portions are big you will not leave their hungry.
