10/10! As a vegan and someone who grew up in the US very close to the Mexican border, there is no possible way for me to pass by "Vegan Mexican food" on a sign and not stop. No way. So when we were in Nazaré on vacation this week, I had to go. Especially after reading other reviews online and learning that it's real, legit Mexican food and not just a knockoff. We were heading out so I had to get it to go, unfortunately, but if I could've stayed and eaten in the restaurant, I would've tried it all. We actually put off leaving until after 1pm when the restaurant opened specifically because I wasn't leaving town without trying it. I got the "no chicken" tacos and a pineapple Jarritos (obviously you get a Jarritos when given the chance!)... I could've eaten 6 of those tacos. I would've loved to try the guac and chips and a margarita also. But alas, the tacos will have to suffice for now. Thank you so much for the strong nostalgic sensory pleasure you provided me in vegan form, the fast and friendly service, and the cheap prices, to boot. Muchas gracias y obrigada...
Read moreWe went to Nazare for a day trip from Lisbon via Get Your Guide Trip. The bus stopped in the town of Nazare 3 min from the beach in front of the fish market. The GYG guide told all of us that the Italian restaurant in front of the fish market was great. Instead we looked up this family run Spanish restaurant La Muneca. It was fantastic along a cobblestone alley which lead to the main Nazare beach. Family run by a husband and wife it is a place where locals and tourist go. We went in Jan first week and there was not much crowd but few locals and some tourists . The Lima Sopa was fresh and refreshing. I had the local craft beer and couple of fish and chicken Taco and everything tasted fresh and good. Service was quick and the host took great care of our family of four. When we got back to the bus we heard a lot of our fellow Travellers who had visited the Italian restaurant recommended by our guide complain that they were fleeced and the food was not good. Glad we picked...
Read moreTHE REAL DEAL!! We read about this place being a great vegetarian option in Nazaré and indeed it did not disappoint. Having traveled to Mexico and California we had never found true authentic Mexican cuisine since then but our experience at La Muñeca was like a time capsule that took us right back there. The vegan chicken tacos were outstanding, the nachos were crispy and fresh and didn’t come with a ton of things on top like in wannabe Mexican restaurants. The guacamole was a dream to match the cheesy quesadillas, so divine that I had to stop myself from ordering more. On top of this the staff is friendly and full of good advice - I would never have ordered the three milks cake but I’m SO glad I did! A little piece of heaven in your mouth. Overall the most authentic and wonderful Mexican experience we’ve had in a long long time, in a warm and traditional space as well. I would strongly recommend it to anyone. Thank...
