Update: if I could give the food 0 stars I would. Tried again 1/6/24 only because my son had never eaten their food and wanted to try it despite my warnings. Uber Ordered Palak Paneer, Lamb Tikki, and Garlic Nan. The first was watery, almost devoid of paneer, the second was so salty it was almost inedible. The naan was rubbery, as though they threw it in the microwave and wrapped it up. Portions are small
Do not eat here if you value your palate or your money. BTW, it set me back €30.00 for this trash. There are 3 other stellar Indian restaurants in town. This one is forever off my list.
2023- Worst meal in Nazare in the 4 years I’ve lived here, and I’ve eaten at dozens of the local establishments. Dismal! Ordered takeout via uber eats. It was a rainy day and thought I’d try these guys out for a little Indian comfort food. Ordered Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer, Garlic Naan, and plain rice. Simple classics. Normally my test when I try a new Indian restaurant. Where do I start? The butter chicken was swimming (drowning perhaps) in a thin, flavourless gravy that lacked even basic seasoning. The Saag Paneer was even worse. No flavour, no texture, bland as could be. The Naan was hard as cardboard, almost inedible. The only thing they didn’t ruin was the rice. Stay away if you value your taste buds.
In all fairness, I haven’t tried their Italian menu, but I’m a bit cautious. I should have followed my instinct, which tells me beware of a restaurant that tries to present 2 very different cuisines at...
Read moreThis was the best Indian food I’ve ever had! We arrived pretty late, almost at closing time, and the restaurant was empty, but they still welcomed us warmly. The staff was super friendly, and the service was really fast, in just a few minutes, our food was on the table.
We ordered chicken curry, prawn mango (shrimp in a sweet and sour mango sauce that was absolutely amazing), and a portion of cheese naan to soak up every last bit of the sauces. I also had two coconut lassis, it’s a yogurt-based drink, sweet but light, and it paired perfectly with the slightly spicy curry. I had never tried it before, and the waiter explained what it was, which made the experience even better.
The place is a bit hidden, but that just makes it feel even cozier. Generous portions, delicious food, and fair prices. Totally worth it, and I’ll definitely be back as...
Read moreA little Indian restaurant off the main street of nazare. Quiet spot with outdoor and indoor seating options. A big menu with lots of starters, different meat / seafood curries and vegetarian. We ordered the malai kofta and lamb korma. Both had lots of flavour, was fresh, creamy and delicious. We also ordered plain rice and a garlic nan. It was a nice experience and a different option to local Portuguese foods. Service was good with staff being very friendly and accomodating. I would recommend if your looking for a nice meal in nazare for a very...
