We visited the restaurant O Benfiquista and had a wonderful experience! We ordered the house-style codfish and the white bean tripe — the latter isn’t on the menu, it’s only served on weekends, and it’s absolutely delicious! The food is traditional Portuguese, made with great care and rich flavor.
The atmosphere is warm, traditional, and lively — just as you’d expect from an authentic Portuguese restaurant. A highlight is the Imperial à Benfica beer, served in a huge tulip glass with a bold taste — perfect to pair with the dishes.
The entire staff is very friendly and attentive, with special mention to Nuno and his father, the owners and passionate Benfica fans, who bring a unique touch to the experience. They create such a welcoming vibe that you feel like you’ve been transported straight to a typical restaurant in Lisbon or Porto.
One amazing detail: you pay for your dish and can have seconds — that’s right! But fair warning: it’s hard to go for a second round, because the portions are generous.
We absolutely loved the place and will definitely return! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a true Portuguese experience in the heart...

Their hospitality was beyond compare, and truly made our experience unforgettable. It was, without a doubt, the best service we've had in Portugal.

We highly recommend O Benfiquista—don't miss the chance to ask for Carlos and Anthony. You...
