We visited the restaurant O Benfiquista and had a wonderful experience! We ordered the house-style codfish and the white bean tripe — the latter isn’t on the menu, it’s only served on weekends, and it’s absolutely delicious! The food is traditional Portuguese, made with great care and rich flavor.

The atmosphere is warm, traditional, and lively — just as you’d expect from an authentic Portuguese restaurant. A highlight is the Imperial à Benfica beer, served in a huge tulip glass with a bold taste — perfect to pair with the dishes.

The entire staff is very friendly and attentive, with special mention to Nuno and his father, the owners and passionate Benfica fans, who bring a unique touch to the experience. They create such a welcoming vibe that you feel like you’ve been transported straight to a typical restaurant in Lisbon or Porto.

One amazing detail: you pay for your dish and can have seconds — that’s right! But fair warning: it’s hard to go for a second round, because the portions are generous.

We absolutely loved the place and will definitely return! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a true Portuguese experience in the heart...

O Benfiquista is hands down the best place to eat in the Fatima area. The food is outstanding—the bacalao is delicious, and the steak is absolutely to die for. But what truly sets this restaurant apart is the ambiance and, of course, the exceptional customer service from two of the best servers we’ve ever encountered: Carlos from Venezuela and Anthony from France. Their hospitality was beyond compare, and truly made our experience unforgettable. It was, without a doubt, the best service we've had in Portugal.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the restaurant is filled with soccer history, adding to its charm. Located in the sacred town of Fatima, it’s the perfect place to end your spiritual journey with authentic Portuguese food. We highly recommend O Benfiquista—don't miss the chance to ask for Carlos and Anthony. You...

Restaurant O Benfiquista is the kind of place you hope to stumble upon while traveling, lively, authentic, and full of local character. The décor celebrates the famous Benfica club, and the atmosphere feels both relaxed and full of energy. You can sit inside among the memorabilia or outside in the sunshine, and either way, the experience is thoroughly enjoyable.

The service here is exceptional. Everything runs smoothly, the dishes are explained with care, and the staff make it feel effortless to keep a busy dining room happy. Our server Anthony on this visit was particularly impressive, friendly, efficient, and attentive in a way that felt completely natural. His menu suggestions were spot-on, and he managed to balance warm conversation with flawless timing. You leave not just satisfied, but feeling like you’ve been truly...

[ENG & PT below, photo of menu] Cudownie rodzinna knajpka tuż koło Sanktuarium, prowadzona przez fanów klubu Benfica. Wyśmienity serwis, zawsze pełno ludzi, zwłaszcza w trakcie lunchu (12-15), warto przyjść przed 12:00 by złapać stolik. Amazing family restaurant next to Sanctuary, owned by Benfica club’s fans, so declaration is all red. Amazing service, it’s aways full of people, which shows how good the food is. Better to come before 12 if you want to catch the table. It’s a place where Portuguese and locals eat with wonderful green wine, codfish cakes and typical Portuguese dishes in very good prices (from 7,50 euro). I come here every time I bring Erasmus groups to Fatima. Very interesting is beer served in very tall glass (imperial a Benfica). Waiters are very energetic and very nice, singing club’s songs a lot! Especially Tony, I love this guy, he always greets me with words “Welcome youngster!” although my teenage years already passed. I recommend this place so much!

Some restaurants leave you with more than a good meal, they leave you with a memory worth keeping. Restaurant O Benfiquista is one of those places. It’s full of Benfica pride, alive with conversation, and welcoming from the moment you arrive. The food is fresh, flavorful, and served quickly, whether you choose a seat inside surrounded by memorabilia or outside under the sun. What truly stood out during our visit was the service, and especially Anthony. He has a gift for making guests feel at home, speaking multiple languages with ease, and recommending dishes with genuine enthusiasm. Everything he suggested was excellent, and he took the time to explain the menu and share local tips about Fátima and Portugal. Anthony works with a mix of energy and warmth that keeps the whole place running smoothly, even on a busy day. It’s clear he cares deeply about the experience of every guest, and that makes all the difference. Restaurant O Benfiquista is already a great place to eat, Anthony makes it unforgettable.
