Huge disappointment from the moment we walked in the door. Some wanted a drink, she sent us to the bar which was empty. After 10 min wait, went out to front desk, asked for bar service and were told just another min. 5-7 min more waiting, we gave up- went to our rooms and then down the street for drinks.| Dinner is buffet only- v disappointing. Dried, hard fish sticks, veggies from a frozen bag, and all soggy; unbelievable. Today when I went to front desk to ask for ice (no ice machines in hotel)!Inwas sent to the bar. After a 5-6 min wait, staff appeared- said she would go to the other part of the bldg and get me ice. She returned with a small bucket of ice, about 1/4 full. I asked if she could give us a full bucket and she said, “ok, but I will have to go back over there….” I couldnt wait another 5 min. |So told her to skip it.| A few others in our group had other neg experiences. This is a 3 star hotel, with 1 star service. Rooms were adequate but nothing special, no extras, at all.| There are TONS of good hotels in Fatima- skip...
Read moreHotel Fatima is a great hotel. My family and I have stayed here plenty of times over the years and we've never had any issues. The reception staff is always friendly and nice. Tip: if you forget your charging adapter coming from abroad, ask at reception.
The rooms are nice and clean. I moved apart the two single beds as I was sharing with my brother. There are a few extra amenities (see "rooms")
I never really liked the bathroom. The door is a slide door, and it's unlockable. Plus there's gaps so you can peak through. Amenities include a hair dryer and an uncommonly found French bidet. There are two large wash basins which are just unnecessary. The faucet is too far away so you have to bend over to reach the water. The tub is very narrow, and may be difficult for a large person. The shower runs hot and has good pressure.
The continental breakfast was good. It was not very hot when I arrived an hour before closing but I assume they weren't cooking much since it was not too busy. I don't mind because of the variety of...
Read moreSo close and user friendly to visit the shrine. Long lines in the middle of the day, so I went to sleep and woke at 5 am, put a jacket on. At 6 am no one was lighting candles, so I did. At 6:30am, mass with guitar playing was occuring in the original little chapel, in Polish. God is Good. His word is universal. Peace be to you and the Our father, I just recited in English. All around me were accepting. Beautiful experience. So many religious items to buy under €10. They really wrap thing good, when they know you are traveling. Also you can buy religious bread for €5 euros. I may not make it to Jerusalem, but I'm so glad I visited. I felt humbled, calmer and so thankful. I survived a major fire in California. I'm truly happy to be alive. I lit a candle for myself and 1 for the world. One for the extreme heat and flooding in 2022. God bless all...
