Let me start by making a summary. The worst of the worst experience, service and food, of my entire time, living for years in Portugal. I'm an expat, who brought his family for a holiday trip to the entire country. I had this place recommended by the hotel I'm staying right across the street. Worst recommendation ever. I went for dinner and I ordered 5 dishes, one of them being "arroz de mariscos" a well cooked meat with rice for my baby, which cannot eat uncooked food, for obvious reasons, a spaghetti, and a chicken. The order took 45 minutes to an hour to come to our table, which I didn't know, it was going to take this long, specially for my baby, as it was already late for our baby. When the plates came in, the meat was still raw and bloody, the rice didn't come and brought chips instead. The "arroz con mariscos" the rice was not fully well cooked and didn't soak in the sauce yet, the spaghetti came cold, and the chicken dry as it was overcooked. We requested for the meat to please be well cooked, not half, but well done, and to heat the spaghetti as well. They took again around 15 minutes more for the spaghetti and 20 for the meat, and when the meat came for the second time, it was more cooked but still the center was raw in the center and they didn't bring the rice, so I had to wait MORE, for my baby's food, then I asked for the third time to had it well done, and they totally forgot the order, as 20 more minutes passed and we had to remind them to bring the meat, which they took another 10 more minutes. By this time, me, my wife and my entire family, as visitors of this country, were having the worst service ever of the night, and we complained that we will not pay the meat dish, as it was useless to have it after an hour an half of being ordered. We went and talk the manager of the place, and the night got even worst, as it was the most rude, egocentric, not at all service oriented person ever,, as it treated my wife with rising his voice, as I had to shut him up for us to be able to talk, and he couldn't shut up, neither find reasoning, as for him everything was okay. After I asked to shut his mouth as we will not paid the dish, he even dared to threat of calling the police... At this time we all were screaming, as it seemed racist the treatment he was giving to me, and to my family, and I had my baby in my arms, and this disrespectful, low manners manager , didn't even respected that part, but finally agreed of not charging for the dish. I've been several years in Portugal, and I've tried from the highest level of dining, the most rural places, and I was always amazed by the Portuguese service, until... I...

If you're in Fátima and happen to spot Apollo Caffe, do yourself a favor and go behind it! That’s where you’ll find Privé, a tucked-away fine dining experience that feels like a local secret. Thankfully, our hotel concierge tipped us off and told us to look behind the diner-style Apollo—and wow, what a discovery.
From the moment we walked in, we were treated like VIPs. The ambiance is cozy and elegant, and the service was truly next level. Angelo and George took amazing care of us. Angelo especially was fantastic—he gave us a great walkthrough of their wine selection (in a separate small room/cellar) and even recommended a red that (surprisingly!) paired beautifully with our seafood dishes.
We started with fresh, house-made garlic bread and clams in a dreamy butter and garlic sauce—seriously addictive. Angelo even brought us extra toasted bread just for dipping in that sauce, which was packed with big, beautiful slices of garlic. He also surprised us with a small bowl of mixed olives and Manchego cheese that was so fresh and flavorful. One of us is gluten intolerant and couldn’t eat the bread, and Angelo went above and beyond—he comped it for her without hesitation, saying it was just a small gesture. So thoughtful!
We also had a super fresh salad, followed by our mains: a perfectly cooked sea bass and the açorda de camarão (a traditional Portuguese shrimp bread stew). Both dishes were absolutely delicious and very generous in portion—we left full and happy!
Privé is the kind of place you feel lucky to find. Excellent food, amazing service, and a truly special atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back next time...
Read moreWarning risk of food poisoning.we ordered pasta lobster which was expensive but I expect a good quality but was disappointed with the result. We were first given a table in the a very crowded salon but later we were offered a table in the back much nicer and more quiet area which was great bur when we were asked ro move to thw next table a member of staff asked us ro take our drinks and he would bring the rest of items which was a box of pastry and a jug of sangria. He didn't bring with him our pastry worse was they were forcing us to gwt a desert even though we refused they still brought us something we didn't order. My husband felt bad for returning itand left the fee for the desert. We felt so uncomfortable to leave that we didn't even mention anything about our own box of pastry. €100 for a jug of sangria and lobster pasta for 2. FYI we were only passing through thw town and bought the pastry in advance without any intention of...
