The wine collection is nothing short of spectacular, with expertly curated recommendations that perfectly match the food. We indulged in the meat platter, the cheese platter, and a selection of vegan dips—each beautifully presented and full of rich, authentic flavors. Paired with our wines, it was an experience to remember.

Awesome place for people who love wine, cheese and dips, culture and passionate people.

The place is ideally located in the escadas do Barredo, with a beautiful view from their windows on the Douro river.

The owners are young and passionate. The suggestions about the wines and the producers of the region are exhaustive, the selection of wines superb. My wife had a fantastic white wine from the Dão region, Encruzado from Revela, by the young winemaker Mariana Salvador. I rated it 4.3 on Vivino and I think this wine deserves to be well known even outside of Portugal. Balanced, full bodied, dense but mineral. Definitely worth a try.

I decided to taste two red wines: Doravante Puro from Outrora, from Baiga and Touriga National grapes, where red fruits dominated a pleasant, elegant taste. Textura de Estrela Tinto, a blend of different grapes with stronger blue fruits, earthy and slightly oaky notes.

Truly a hidden gem! This unique wine bar is authentic, intimate and the location is utterly jaw dropping. Tucked away into the hillside along 17th century stone walkways, Arco das Verdades is run by a husband and wife team (Tatiana and Alex) who have clearly poured their heart and soul into their wine bar and it shows. They have created an immersive experience with exceptional service, top quality wine and food selection, capped off with spectacular views of the Douro River and the Ponte Luis I. Guests (as you are more than just a “customer” in this establishment) are encouraged to change the music with a selection of CDs and slow things down by flipping through the pages of one of the many encyclopedias off the wall (available in at least 4 languages). On our visit, we ended up having wonderful conversations with several other couples at surrounding tables and by the end of the night, pictures and contact info were shared.
