Big Bad Bank Bar — Restaurant in Porto

The place is really cool to come and have drinks but honestly dinner here is a bit too fancy for me (meaning the prices), but I wasn’t too hungry so I decided to munch on the appetisers instead. Aaaand in all honesty the prices for what is the amount on my plate is unbelievable. I tried the croquette that the waiter (whose the only attentive one around, it was so hard to get their attention to order and by the looks of it they’re very short staffed) recommended and it was not all the hype it’s said to be, the “special sauce” needed more seasoning and the croquette was quite cold by the time it got to my table also needed more seasoning. Ohh and also I got only one piece literally €4 for a single croquette! Could at least offered me two. It was never specified how many I was going to get on the menu which means if I wanted to I would have to spend another €4? €8 for two croquettes is a bit excessive no? Also ordered the anchovies and for the size of the plate it was literally just the fish with a single sliced roasted red pepper barely any of the veggie at all and some olive oil, idk why it should be €7.

Overall good place to hangout would recommend dining elsewhere unless you have the wallet for it.

Ps. Whoever reviewed this bar €10-15 pp is clearly not ordering any alcoholic drinks at all and probably just ordered the cheapest main course which is the €12 PT cockle. It’s at least €25++ pp including...

I had an amazing experience at Big Bad Bank bar in Porto last night! This place is definitely a must-visit if you're looking for a cool and unique spot to enjoy some cocktails and good music. The cocktail lineup is impressive, but I particularly loved the Porto Tonic made with white Porto wine - definitely give it a try!

The restaurant area is also worth mentioning, with long tables where people can sit together and enjoy some delicious food. Although I didn't get a chance to try the food myself, I heard great things about it.

The crowd was diverse and good looking, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere. One of the highlights of the place is the safe filled with fake money and the bed covered with fake money, perfect for Instagrammers looking for a cool photo op.

We first discovered this place in 2022, so when we found ourselves in Porto again we wanted to see if it was as good as we remembered. It wasn't, it was even better. Enough has been said about the vibe and ambience of the place, and it's all true. The food and service is where this place really shined. Trust your waiter, they know what they're talking about and the food pairings and wine suggestions are spot on. If you are a foodie, you'll really appreciate the nuance and attention to detail that has gone into every dish.
