It's a lovely place, staff are super friendly and the food.... well, I loved it!
I didn't know until today about these Rissóis, and now I'm a fan. They are a kind of turnovers / croquettes. They are freshly made, so, you may have to wait a little, but really not long. My favourite was the 'misto' (ham and cheese), which apparently is the children's favourite (according to my friendly waitress). I also tried the soup of the day (onion soup), highly recommended as well.
So, here is my rating based on a five-star system I learned from a friend: Quality of the food * Quantity of the food * (Each risso is actually small but you won't need more than three to feel satisfied) Value for money * (I paid just a bit more than €15, including a soft drink and dessert, no bad at all!) Service * (staff were nice, attentive and helpful) The "je ne sais quoi" factor * (this is always the most challenging factor, they place is nice but nothing out of the ordinary; however, I gave it three stars because the waitress made me feel like wanting to come back)
Average is 4.6 🌟 (as Google doesn't allow half stars, then round...
Read moreI had an exceptional evening at éLeBê Baixa in the heart of Porto's Baixa district. The dining room blends a romantic vibe with modern elegance—think crisp white tablecloths, tasteful wooden accents, copper lighting, and artistic touches that create a warm, inviting space.
I began with a fondue-style cheese starter that was luxuriously creamy, followed by a “montada minhota” — a high-quality steak sandwich showcasing bold Minho flavours. The highlight was the bacalhau dish: perfectly executed, with tender cod and refined seasoning. Every bite felt both comforting and elegant .
Service was outstanding—attentive, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. The atmosphere felt calm and intimate, ideal for a relaxed dinner or date night . éLeBê Baixa earned consistently high scores for food, service, and ambiance—around 9.4 to 9.5 on review platforms.
Overall, éLeBê Baixa offers a refined take on traditional Portuguese cuisine with a romantic twist. Whether you're celebrating or just craving high-quality local dishes in a charming setting, it’s a place I’d...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this lovely place by chance, and sometimes chance does things well!
After a few minutes of waiting, the team seated us at the counter – at first glance, not ideal for chatting (group of 5 girls ;-) ), but we quickly changed our minds. First, the setting: a magnificent zinc counter overlooking the kitchens, all within a small cosy restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Then, the team: very friendly, attentive, and offering good advice! In short, a very enjoyable experience, and we were even able to chat with the french chef after the rush, we loved it !
And finally, we were able to discover the chef's rissois as well as Portuguese dishes, made with fresh, high-quality products, transformed by the talented chef who offers simple, local cuisine, prepared with brilliance and a lot of heart.
Huge shout-out for the salada da horta and the chili 😉 A thousand thanks for the welcome and the service, and congratulations to the team.
We went there twice in 3 days (including 1 takeaway)… a...
