The star I am giving is for the wonderful young man working at the pastry shop. I visited the cafe last night to inquire about Broa bread - a traditional Portuguese Rye/corn bread. He said they are out but to come back on the next morning. He even took my name and phone number so he can notify me in case there is none. I went to the shop and a very unfriendly lady helped me. She cut a loaf and packaged it immediately. When I was leaving she saw on the rack behind her that the friendly server from last night had reserved a loaf of bread for me with my name on it. She put it out for sale since she already had cut one for me. When I got to my car I found out that she had sold me a underbaked, gooey bread for 4.50€! She had seen the inside when cutting it but sold it to me nevertheless! It is a pity that I am leaving Portugal and this is the last thing to remember from this...
Read moreI've been to the restaurant and the service was terrible. The lady is french, not even real portuguese food and very rude to the clients and her employees. She yells at them constantly and treats them like dogs. The food is expensive for what you get. We paid 5€ for 4 small slices of sausage. Normally, with 5€ you can get a nice soup or a full pizza. She also didn't warn us that she doesn't accept interac. When we were about to leave we found an interac machine and the french woman said that she uses it for portuguese costumers only (which is very odd, probably to avoid paying taxes...). Don't go to thus restaurant, not worth the trouble. You can easily find better service and...
Read moreUnfortunately, I encountered terrible service here. The woman was completely unfriendly and rude. I asked for two croissants to go. At first, without clarifying, she decided to pack a brioche croissant for me, then irritably switched it to my order. But when I wanted to pay, I heard, "only cash, lady," in response. No "sorry," no explanation of what went wrong, why I couldn't pay by card. I didn't see any notices by the cash register stating they only accepted cash. Maybe they have a minimum card payment (which is also strange), but couldn't they explain politely? The woman acted as if she'd rather not sell...
