This non-touristic cafe in Porto blows everything else I have eaten here ... straight out of the water! I came because of the reviews. I have be been practicing saying, "Francesinha" for months! That, and "Pasteis de Nata," was the extent of my dive into Portuguese.
The Francesinha was OUTRAGEOUSLY YUMMY! The beer/tomato sauce...I could have gone face first into it, and drowned as a happy woman! The egg was not really runny, if you're someone who doesn't like runny eggs, and the toast, multiple meats, and cheese.... WOW!
You'll have to go off the beaten path to find it, or... I suppose, you could take Uber. His coffee is truly worth a visit if you like coffee!
Prices are ridiculously low and Joseph's attention to detail when making coffee and even packing up pastries in a bag is worth watching! Other customers are regulars and all were equally friendly! Muito...
Read moreMy mom and i were fortunate enough to stay a block away from this unassuming hole in the wall kind of place during our trip to Porto. It's a local place with friendly and down to earth staff, and the prices are more than fair, and without the high markup that other more touristy places have. I have been to Porto a bunch of times, but i have to say they made the best Franzensinha i ever tried!! out of trying maybe 10 different ones throughout the years. And the coffee was the best we had on our trip too! We went here 3 times during our stay, and will for sure be coming back next time....
