Alojamento Local Monte Sinai — Hotel in Porto

It was awful!!! But let's start from the beginning. We booked a triple room for 3 nights, and we asked for 3 single beds for 3 adults. In the description it says that in this room size 18 meters, and the pictures of the rooms was shown a large wide window. In addition, we were told that we need to reserve a parking place and we did it. But........ When we arrived everything changed. ||1.It is no parking for this hotel and public parking so far away . ||2 During a long check-up the owner, every few minutes try to sell a tourist map for 2 euros! (Those map you can get in every hotel or tourist information for free)||We asked to show us a room, but the hotel owner wanted us to pay immediately and only after long explanations, and requests, he agreed.||3 No wonder why! Tiny room, which hardly placed two beds. and there is no question that we can put our suitcases. But that was nothing until we realized that the only one little window is in the bathroom and to breath some air you need to open the bathroom. When you actually open that window you see an endless view of roofs that covered in pigeons dropping that already gave a unbearable smell. You need only touch this window and you already have an disease! Unfortunately we were not able to take a picture of this horror. ||4 Again, after a long explanation, we asked to change our room. Horrible experience for any price you may pay. When we arrived and were shown our room, the air smelled terribly at cigarette smoke. We complained to the cleaning lady, she told us it was probably the guests that were there before. She advised us to leave the window open and said she would change the mattress. When we arrived later in the evening, we discovered the reason for the smoke smell was the doorman who was smoking in his cabin inside the hostel, the smell was intense when he came to open the door. We had a hard time sleeping, my girlfriend has a mild asma and I'm more of an outdoor person. We couldn't leave the window open because it opens to one of the busiest streets in Porto, even at night (it leads to a bridge that crosses to Gaia, the city on the other side of the river). Also, there was a problem with the closing mechanism of the blinds, so we couldn't have the room dark, depending only on a curtain. In the morning we confronted the same cleaning lady, she first tried to blame the next door room neighbors but finally admitted the smoke came from the doorman's habit of smoking indoors (and that she sometimes also smoked inside). Also, the "hostel" is an old building with badly taken cared furniture, appliances, walls. The bathroom sink and bathtub are amateurishly repaired, with plaster. You can see that whoever owns the place just doesn't care, the building is slowly degrading and every problem is cheaply...

My stay at this hostel was a truly horrible experience, regardless of the price. Upon entering our room, we were immediately hit by an intense cigarette smoke smell. We informed the cleaning staff, who suggested it was from previous guests and offered to change the mattress. However, we later discovered the true source of the smoke was the doorman, who was smoking in his cabin within the hostel. The smell became even more potent when he opened the door for us. Sleeping was a nightmare. The persistent smoke smell aggravated my mild asthma, and as someone who prefers fresh air, it was unbearable for me. We couldn't keep the window open due to the constant noise from a busy street leading to the Gaia bridge. To make matters worse, the blinds were broken, so we had to rely on a thin curtain, leaving the room anything but dark. The next morning, we confronted the same cleaning lady. She initially tried to blame our neighbors but eventually admitted that the doorman frequently smoked indoors and that she also did so occasionally. Beyond the smoke issue, the building itself is in a state of disrepair. The furniture, appliances, and walls are poorly maintained. The bathroom sink and bathtub have been amateurishly patched with plaster. It's clear that the owners have a complete disregard for the property, opting for cheap, quick fixes rather than proper maintenance, allowing the building to slowly...
