Absolute perfection! We were on holiday in Porto and on the hunt for restaurants able to cater for my partners intolerance's (gluten & lactose). Whilst researching options on my phone on our balcony I noticed this place setting up opposite. Looking at reviews I saw they catered well for her needs and were highly recommended. And they didn't disappoint. We turned up having not booked and even though they were super busy, managed to seat us. From that moment on it was fantastic. Every member of staff we dealt with was friendly and couldn't help enough. My girlfriend is used to being made to feel awkward when discussing her intolerance's, but this place was a breath of fresh air. The manager took his time to discuss what was needed and the options, making us super relaxed. We never normally get to eat at Italian restaurants, so this was a treat. They do gluten free, lactose free pasta which tasted amazing and my girlfriend fell in love with the lactose free panna cotta!! I had pizza and tiramisu, both delicious, as was the wine. We made a return visit before we left Porto, making sure to book this time. This place is a must if in Porto especially if you have gluten/lactose issues. Staff were all wonderful, food was so fresh and tasty, atmosphere was perfectly relaxed and amazing value for money. Loved the music too. Can't wait to...
Read moreThis place was an awesome stumble upon. It was fairly busy but we managed to get seated right away. It took a little to get ordered but was definitely worth it.
We ordered pizza Diavolo, spaghetti Bolognese, and “a despensa” salad
The pizza was surprising. I’ve had Diavolo pizza in Switzerland and usually is just spicy salami and olives or sometimes peppers. But this came with caramelized onions, peppers, and pepperoni. It was really good. The only complaint was the middle got soggy quickly.
The salad (a despensa) was served in what looked like a pizza dough. It had a nice balance of all the components and wasn’t overly sweet. (Aged balsamic is sweet). Also had a good flavor to the tomatoes and sun dried tomatoes. It brought it all together.
The Bolognese was really just the standard spaghetti bolognese, it was good but the salad and pizza were better.
Was accompanied by a street performer singing in according that went well with the atmosphere.
Great place would definitely eat...
