We started our Porto trip in Mescla on the first evening and ended our Porto trip in Mescla the last evening. It’s safe to say that we have no regrets. Not only is the bar super nice, also when you go upstairs you’ll find yourself in one of the coziest places in Porto. The food is amazing, after going there twice we have tried quite a lot on the menu and every single dish was excellent and extremely tasty. The onion bahjis were our favorites but literally everything else was also extremely delicious. The service was impeccable and we had the best waiter (I think the name tag on his shirt said Paulo, but I’m not sure). He knew everything there was to know about the kitchen, but also about the wines and different types of port. The second time we went there we decided to also get some cocktails and my mom was delighted by her pisco sour. I had the refreshing mocktail with ginger, and even though I’m not a huge fan of ginger, that mocktail was amazing! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to taste so many different flavors from different parts of the world and just wants to have a nice dinner/ bar experience. (I forgot to take pictures of the disches, but I do have one of the desert with mango, which was...
Read moreWe had dinner… we first ordered some starters like ceviche and the main dish with chicken and we also asked what “Rodizío” is and if its pork or beef. The answer was beef so we ordered. İt began good, followed by our curiousity about İngredients became later a desaster. First the vegetable in the ceviche, which we found great and asked, was called as it is cucumber. İ said “really? No!?” İt was different i said. The service person was then very annouyed, that i dont believe that it is cucumber. “Sweety its cucumber shall i bring you the menu, she said…” i said no okay 🤔… whatever
then later our rodizío came… we ate it, it was good except we got suspicious of the roasty Croutons… while another service staff came, we asked what that is, and it turned out that it was roasted bacon (pork)! We claimed that we asked in advance and its not nice for muslims to get no info not even after asking. The service staff said sorry but WE should have been asking more precisely. İ was really pissed, a service staff should know that if someone asking for the type of meat, that there is a reason behind!
The sorry didnt feel like it meant seriously!
Normally i would not pay for such a bad experience! Did it, but it was my last...
Read moreA true gem in Porto’s dining scene! Mesclé is a feast for all the senses. The interior design alone is worth a visit – every detail is thoughtfully curated, creating a space that feels both eclectic and harmoniously balanced. It’s stylish without trying too hard.
The menu is a brilliant example of creative fusion cuisine, blending influences from Japan, South America, and Portugal in bold and unexpected ways. Each dish is a small work of art, with unique flavour profiles and perfectly balanced seasoning. The ceviche was the only exception – slightly too acidic and lacking the depth of the other dishes – but everything else more than made up for it.
What truly sets Mesclé apart, though, is the team. The waitstaff are an experience in themselves – fun, funky, and genuinely passionate. Their attentiveness, warm energy, and impressive knowledge of both food and wine add a personal and authentic touch to the entire evening.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for something different, exciting, and expertly executed. Mesclé is not just a meal –...
