O Freitas — Restaurant in Porto

It is my favorite restaurant in northern Portugal. Daniel is a wonderful (7 stars waiter) waiter, explains everything for you by arrival and let's you know everything you need to know. They have cheese, ham bread and olives already on the tables and then you choose what you want (unlike other restaurants where they obligate you things). The food is wonderful (we tried both sorts of octopus) and they are really healthy to digest while traveling. The restaurant interior is good. The dessert was more than perfect. We’ve been there a few years ago and, as we had good memories of this place, for our return to Porto we came back to Ofreitas. The decor is simple with big heavy wooden chairs and table. The service is excellent, especially if you don’t speak Portuguese. As for the food, it didn’t reach our expectations this time. Nos as good as remembered. My fish was a bit too cooked and the filet mignon of pork was a bit too tough. But the portions are big. All in all we had a great time again even if the second time wasn’t as good...

We stayed here yesterday night and everything was fantastic. Waiters were really kind, nice and spoke perfect English. The service was super. We tried olives and bread and claims for starters and then different fishes as second plates. As dessert we chosed a mango cake and red fruits cake, both delicious.
