O Manel´s — Restaurant in Porto

Everything was excellent; food, dessert, drinks, atmosphere and service. Small place just like most of the typical restaurants here in Portugal. Believe all the great reviews here from other people and us, of course. You will not be disappointed. They will welcome your table with complimentary sparkling wine. Our server is the co-owner and he speaks English well. You can tell that he and his partner, the chef put their hearts on everything. Hence the excellence in all. Excellent food; great service!

They may not have a very big menu and doesn't look particularly fancy either. They do simple food, but they do it incredibly well at O'Manel's (and generous portions too).

The service was superb as well. Everything was carefully checked before they were served. And I assume the owner, who was managing front of house was very friendly, explaining and helping us through the menu (we are not Portuguese).

Our stay at Porto wasn't long but we ended up going back to O'Manel's for our final evening in the city.

Alright…. I thought maybe the reviews were wrong and it was family and friends reviewing. Oh how wonderfully wrong I was. Not a single dish fell short of delicious and don’t rob yourself of the experience that is the maracuja(passionfruit) sangria.
