Well well well, how do I start this off.... I'm one to read the reviews and be like "No why this is a 3.7 rated " so I thought let's go and see if it's good or bad .... First off I walked in and asked to sit down for a table for 1 and this guy asked me 3 times if I like a table, so I thought no worries must be a language thing, I sat done and given menus then no lie I was there for like a minute and he wanted to take my drink and food choices, so ten minutes went by which was good and I gave my wine and steak order, then 20 minutes later I got my wine, which was delicious .... then the food comes out, and this is where it all goes belly up, the starter was amazing and would recommend the croquettes to anyone, then my main meal 😢😢😢 first I would like to say it's well presented and looking good but the Rib Loin which was 55€ had 5 slices on it and the bone was like a bread roll on the end of a fork, and I asked for it to be medium and come out rare and on the side I asked for fries and a side which was spinach beans and corn bread which sounds delicious but was a flop ..... I asked if it was meant to be cold to warm and the waiter said it was meant to be like that....so being in a different country I took it as that's how it's done so that's it, but overall the waiter didn't seem like he had any passion for his job and just his attitude was just slow and not interested so for all that happened it's was very overpriced for what I got and I would tell others to bare in mind that it has a 3.7 rating for a reason .... its said because it has the potential of being one of the best steak houses in the country especially with...
Read moreEntrance was ok. Waitress overly chatty but nothing major. Table was nice - for 9 of us. Plant was in one persons way which we asked to be moved and it was after the starter. Starters were poor and not a great selection either. Bread with oils and spreads were nice.
Drinks took ages to order, no wine list or cocktails list for 30 mins after we had asked for it.
Waitress again overly chatty when ordering mains and had clearly been on an upselling course as she was clearly only recommending the most expensive items on the menu. We did choose a variety of the sharer steaks and boards anyway. We also ordered a side per person and a few for the table.
The steaks came and looked good. The sides came and we’re laughable. The only side we were happy with was the rice. The tomato salad was very basic for the price and the potato chips were outrageous. €6 for a handful of Lays /Walkers crips was almost laughable.
We asked for a water to be put on the table as it wasn’t being refilled by the staff quickly enough and there was a big deal about it being company policy that they topped our drinks up, when we said they were all empty the waitress agreed to put one on the table. Multiple times we went to the sideboard and refilled drinks ourselves.
When asked for dessert we said no, that we’d go and get some ice-cream elsewhere and that we’d like the bill. This took another 15 minutes.
Overall I’d say to try elsewhere. Had better steaks and sides for half the price and the atmosphere and service wasn’t as good as expected. A massive disappointment...
Read moreWent to RIB in Porto with my mom who was visiting, and we left shortly after arriving because the experience started off so poorly. The blonde waitress, who we had to find in the restaurant to sit for our reservation.., greeted us like we did something to her and was cold and dismissive, we asked to sit outside as it was empty and it’s warm weather, she just said no because it’s reserved when the restaurant was almost empty.. it could be me not understanding the way reservations worked, but behaving in this manner to customers was quite unexpected. She led us to a cramped corner table where we could barely sit without bumping into our table and other chairs (the restaurant was empty I want to emphasize again). She dropped the menus and walked off without saying much, very odd behavior… Thankfully, another waiter came by and was polite and respectful, he did his absolute best, which we appreciated. But by then, we already felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. We looked at the menu, which didn’t impress us either, and decided to leave. Not the kind of atmosphere you hope for when showing someone dear to you the city and trying to create unforgettable memories. One thing RIB provided was the unforgettable experience but not the experience you wish to live as a customer, it was not pleasant and unfortunate.
