10 weeks i have travelled the Iberian Peninsula, eating in over 30 restaurants. This is one of 4 that have earned a Review. Anyone out there want a unique once-in-a-lifetime experience in high quality Portuguese food, THIS IS IT!!! The unique food, which is entirely local, handmade products, can not be compared to anything, but is always the result of food of extremely high quality, made with love. Its intention is to create unique tastes that can not be compared to anything else, and thus always comes with a risk, if you have a delicate tongue. For example, the cheese fondue was really good, but it did have a side taste that was a little weird - i still liked it though. However, the rest of the food was just beyond amazing. Their olive oil is very mild (uncommon in this area) and their vinegar is very sweet (also uncommon - as you hear, everything is unique in this place) and their sausages were just so wonderful it was heaven to eat them. The waiter was so kind, and when the owner herself heard that i was very hungry (apparently, the waiter found this small remark important enough to tell the owner!) she began fussing over me like a spoiling mother, and wasn't satisfied until she had offered...
Read moreAte there last night with my wife. First, food is really good. Their proposal is very specific and everything they serve is high quality. 100% local too. Everything is beautifully and soberly garnished and presented. You can tell right away things are done with love. Second, the staff was just adorable from the start till the end. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable about everything they have on the menu. When your food arrives, they explain what everything is without making a speech. Lastly, the ambience is a very cool mix of refined and laid back. And when looking around you can tell both customers and workers are having a good time. From what we ate, a Goat Cheese with Oregano and a very dry Jamón Serrano stood up. The Olive Oil they used for the small salad that came with our Tuna was just delicious. We had the Tuna with Ginger but regretted not trying the Bacalhau with Garlic. By the time we were done with what we shared we were pretty full. We closed it with a very good Cheesecake Icecream with Orange and Ginger Confiture. Great...
Read moreMy husband & I just had a delightful gastronomic delight at this restaurant for dinner 🥰! We opted for the Traditional Seafood Creations Menu which was a five course meal with dessert and wine pairing. We also ordered the cheese fondue as appetizer (apart from the seafood menu) . It was a yummy, cheesy, deliciousness! Carla, our server & dinner guide😍 explained the menu in detail, including it’s origins & preparation. First came needlefish in a citric marinade & onions, we loved it ! It was wonderfully appetizing! Next was roasted sardines with red peppers. The combination was very good! Carla then brought us a couple of cheese wedges from the Azores. Yumm !!! Next came the Mackerel with bread cubes and Codfish with cornbread. We definitely loved the Codfish more. It was just more flavorful! For dessert, we had the Portuguese Flan & Portuguese cheesecake with orange & ginger. Both perfect endings for a wonderful dinner ! Definitely highly recommend this restaurant ! It’s a...
