Terreirinho was such a lovely experience. My partner and I came here for a late dinner one evening back at the end of March, whilst staying in Porto for my 30th birthday, and I couldn't fault it if I tried. Everything was perfect.
The waiting staff were all really helpful and accommodating. A Brazilian man called Fernando, I believe, (I'm sorry if I've spelt your name wrong) served us and was very kind and sweet, instantly making us feel at home.
The food was honestly incredible. It was late in the evening and after a busy day, so we decided on having a selection of some of the smaller plates and sides. Everything was so nicely put together and presented, fresh and full of flavour. We were also pleasantly full as the portions were very generous, and the prices were more than reasonable. It's hard to pick a favourite item as it was all so good, however I could happily eat the garlic sautéed prawns (gambas salteadas) every single day of my life and never get bored of them!!!
For drinks, we just went for a couple of locals beers, so I cant comment on the wine selection. However they had a good list of wines and drinks and I also noticed that they offer the option for corkage if you want to bring along your own alcohol, which I always appreciate.
The location is also great. Tucked away down a quaint side street, just off from the main water front, but away from all the hustle and bustle.
If we are ever back in Porto, we will be sure to come back here for food as we both loved the experience and there's so much more on the menu I wish I could have tried. Highly...

A great range of petiscos in an intimate setting!
Our picks included:
Bacalhau a Bras: Portuguese cod with potato, egg and onion served shredded! A very good sized portion and tasty (although could have done with a touch more seasoning!)
Feijoada de pernil com arroz branco: A warming stew of beans, beef and pork. Filling, tasty with melt in your mouth meat.
Gambas salteadas com Alho e whisky: A succulent dish of shrimp cooked in a buttery, garlic sauce and fried off in a whisky! The sauce was great to mop up with bread!
Bolinhas de Dheira com compota cebola roxa: A croquette with smoked sausage and port jam. Crunchy coating with a tasty filling but needing more seasoning. We've had others which had something extra to them... These were good though!
Four dishes plus bread was ample for two! Would even say one dish less would have sufficed but our eyes were bigger than our bellies!
Finished off with a 20year old tawny port... This was lovely with a slight bite to it. I prefer something somewhat smoother but that's me being a fuss pot!
Altogether a delightful menu and with friendly staff! Despite closing there wasn't too much pressure to leave!
Even though the place was small and cosy with a quirky amount of coins strategically placed around the stoned walls from visitors, it did lack a little in atmosphere and zest! Perhaps because we were one of only two parties in there...!
Would highly...
Read moreWe first visited this place two years ago and absolutely loved it. Naturally, when we came back to Porto, we decided to replicate the experience. But, as they say, you can’t step into the same river twice.
As good as it was back then, that’s how frustrating it has been now. It started with the starters: croquettes with a bone inside. Okay, happens to the best (actually, no, but let's assume).
Then came the main course. A tuna steak ordered medium rare has arrived medium well at best, if you squint. The cod was dry and oversalted, felt like a Soviet canteen for 22€. The waiter who cleared the plates didn’t even ask if everything was okay, despite taking away a half-full dish.
The service was mediocre, the food poor (except for the shrimps, I have to be fair, those were good), out of 3 wine portions, each was smaller than the previous one. We didn’t have the patience to risk the dessert.
In summary: mediocre service, low-quality food (again, except for the shrimps), and high prices. Altogether, the place has, in just two years, turned into a tourist trap. Sadly, it's now removed from the "favourites list", not coming back
Upd: since I can't reply to the owners response. We were 2 people, the group of 9 were next to us. (It's misleading, because the question in review was "what group size is this place for", multiple answers). The issue was not the prices, but the quality for...
