I was out in Sintra with my husband in a date without kids 🙌. We were looking for a restaurant, but couldn't find anything very Portuguese around. It was all very about tapas, no typical portuguese meals at all. So we decided to try the "Hamburgueria", a burguer couldn't fails us and we're blommed away with the view from this restaurant. When tried to get a table, they offer us a table where we couldn't see the view or a table in the sun and it was really sunny and hot that day, so we ask if we could sat on the big table on the corner but close to the magnificent view, this was about 2 o'clock and they refused as that table was for bigger groups, but I'm sure no one would come for lunch anymore at that time. Anyway we walked away went to visit something and come back later to see if we would have a table with a romantic view as we were on a date 🥰. Found a table and we can't fault the view. The view is beautiful, but the burger... was the most horrible burger I ever had in my life and the food it was cold. Can u imagine eating cold chips?🤮. We waited from someone to come by and no one ever came to check how we were doing, we wanted to return our food... So we try to eat but it was awful and we left most on the plate. Thinking that we paid 20£ each, a total bill above 40£, to a burger you would have much better at Mcdonald's and to a cheaper price?! Please tourist if you looking for something with portuguese taste don't go to this place. As a portuguese and knowing our food is so rich in tasting, I was a shame for all the tourists being fooled in this place just because of the view. Probably OK for drinks, but for food I definitely don't recommend it!!

And a last thing, we finally manage to speak with someone when they come to ask for the bill but the person didn't know how to speak portuguese. How come are you working in Sintra - Portugal... serving tables in a very tourist zone and don't know how to speak Portuguese??!! Eventually, we spoke in English, as we being living in England over 17 yrs but this is ridiculous as this area will have tourist all over the world but also all over Portugal.

Felt this restaurant in the heart of a very tourist zone left all the portuguese down, and the tourist that...

My associate and I decided on a day trip to Sintra from Lisbon. After hours of exploring the beautiful, historic city our legs were tired and our tummies were empty; to our enormous pleasure, we stumbled upon Restaurante Miradouro... it was quaint. We weren’t expecting more than just something to fill our aching bellies but what we received was truly something extraordinary! We both ordered the plate of the day- vegetarian lasagna. The very charismatic, sweet, and jovial owner relayed to us that we were the first two to order the dish all day! This news left us weary because why were the first two to order this item at 4pm?? We feared for the WORST, however what we received was the best lasagna I have EVER had! It was light, creamy, delicious, and exactly was we needed! We couldn’t have been more impressed, very high quality food. While we were fully satisfied with our meal we were still peckish and wanted to indulge in some of the sweet treats being offered. I decided on the traditional Pastel de Nata. I had one prior but this one blew the others out of the water. It was served warm with the choice to sprinkle some cinnamon on top! It felt right and made me feel so connected to Portuguese culture. My accomplice, after brilliant banter with the owners decided on the chocolate cake. Also served warm with a chocolate drizzle, made her right at home. The owners showed immense gratitude towards our enjoyment of their food. All in all, this venue was a great experience! It was the cherry on top to our trip to Sintra. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I hope you enjoy! -Jennifer...

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was far from positive. The restaurant is located on a terrace with a beautiful view of the city, but it was full of smokers. When we asked the hostess if there was a designated non-smoking area, she said there wasn’t, so we had to sit indoors—as if it were not already 2025 and awareness of smoking and its harms did not exist.

We waited no less than 45 minutes for our burgers, while all the other guests around us had already been served. When we asked the waiter about the delay, he explained that the kitchen was overloaded with external orders. Later, when the food finally arrived, he claimed there had been a mix-up with our order. When I asked why we weren’t informed earlier, he said there was only one other waiter besides him—yet the restaurant was clearly not busy.

The bun was completely dry, the burger itself was disappointing, and no sauces were served. We were offered no apology or compensation for the excessive wait and overall poor experience. Not recommended—slow service, lack of professionalism, and...

Sintra is exhausting, overwhelming, and, dare I say it, magical. It’s the kind of place you visit once, and it never leaves you. Like an ex you don’t quite hate. 🤣 So you're tired from walking all morning and you look for a place to rest and recharge. This is a good place for a long lunch with plenty of wine. And than you wonder about your own life choices. You walk through this royal town and think, ‘Why don’t I live in a palace?’ Then you remember you can barely keep your apartment clean, and you move on. But for a brief moment, you believe in the possibility of grandeur—of a life lived on a higher plane. The waiter arrived with the check, you take a last sip of wine and it's time to go and explore again.

Been there today and had two burgers, coffee and beer. Burgers have been very good, with meat, cheese and sauce one of the better I had. The only downside was the bun, it was ok, but not up to par with the rest of the burger. They serve fries with home made mayo on the side, both very good. Craft beer I had was also top notch. Now if you put the outstanding view on top of overall great food, this place is worth visiting and surely a no brainer if you are are getting tired with Portuguese options already. Also, I recommend ordering the food directly with the staff inside, otherwise you are risking some long wait times - at the same time, not that different than in any other restaurant here ;) Thank you!
