We found Quinta dos Lobos by accident in 2024 and fell in love with it. We hoped it would still be around for our return this year, we were thrilled to find out it was open and thriving. The food is simple, clean and delicious, they serve authentic, unpretentious Portuguese food. We sat outside amidst the serene back drop of the Sintra mountains. It's like an oasis in the middle of chaos. This would be enough to recommend Quinta dos Lobos, but I haven't even gotten to the best part. The staff, I cannot begin to describe how wonderful they are. Here is the epitome of great service, when we finished our meal, we were headed back toward the village, our server Francisca (A ray of sunlight of a human being) overheard us and volunteered to drive us as she was getting off of work and was heading that way. We declined as there were eight of us and couldn't fit in her car. She quickly replied, "no problem, my boyfriend Thelmo is leaving as well so we could fit four in each car." As you can imagine we were dumbstruck by hers, and Thelmo's kindness. We agreed and were treated to a mini tour through the winding roads of Sintra as Thelmo explained to us the history of the seven quintas making up the surrounding area of Palacio da Pena. I hope you give Quinta dos Lobos a try, I know we are excited to go back in 2026!!! If you like sangria, try the Aplle Basil Sangria, extraordinary!!!...
Read moreNot for Europeans. Expensive tourist trap for cheap food, bad design and unpleasnat service.
Food is eatable but not very tasty, bad value for money, no garnishing, small portions. The smallest and saddest skewer Ive had in Portugal.
Service not that good. Dont come here if you are starving. You will not be full and will wait forever for the food arrive. They forgot about our food while we were the only customers in the place, ridiculous.
Forced politenes from staff and boring pushy and uneeded conversations with fake smiles that never reach the eyes.
At the end they push you to pay tip on the card terminal without even asking or giving a chance for customer to choose the amount of the tip, very unconfortable.
The design is very basic, give off a vibe like instagram with DIY upgrades for IKEA firniture. Its not a problem over all but they are presenting themselfs as a fancy, but they are not that good. Chipped away colors in their interior furniture, chair fabric with holes and coming off. Everything, the plates, the food, the glasses screams cheap.
Why I didnt mark 1 star? Because the 1 star ratings dont show up on Google maps reviews page, i wish I had read the 1 star ratings to prepare myself for whats coming.
The nice ting they have is the garden tables. Really lovely. And there was no people so we got seated right away. So not...
Read moreFood is hit and miss depending on a dish. Black pasta is tasty. Not so great Caesar salad. Crazy prices: €18 skewer had 2 Shrimps and 4 small pieces of squid on it… My issue is with staff constantly directing people onto private parking. They are approaching people who parked on the road where YOU CAN PARK for FREE in many places. They stop by and say that you will get ticket. To have parking free you need to buy food at their restaurant. (Please don’t bother answering saying that that’s not true, at the end of the day street is full of cars and no one gets towed away or even ticket - been there few days in the row) ps. Waiter when asked for a wine which is not dry, replied saying he don’t know as he does not drink alcohol 🤣 - dear restaurant management: staff should know which wine is which type, if they don’t they ask colleague or just read label or google it. We ended up researching that ourselves. Final issue: at the end we were told that we can’t have free parking as we have not spent €60 which is €15 per person (we have spent €50). I have asked why he assumes that there is 4 people in the car? Only one couple came in car which parked at their parking. Rip off to the maximum Oh, by the way, they bring tap water and bread without asking and charge respectively €3.5!!! And €4.5 for it. That next...
