Walk past all the boring eateries with photo menu posted outside, this little charming restaurant will steal your heart. You won't find spaghetti alla bolognese here, they only do authentic Portuguese food - and for some dishes, they have their own special recipe. If you are in Sintra, we highly recommend it. We went back for 3 dinners in a row - there simply wasn't anything else on their level in town. The prices are in line with the other restaurants in the area, so you will spend 6-8 € for a starter and 18-22 € for a main, but portions are generous and service is very thoughful. What we liked the most was their Xico steak, super tender meat in beer sauce with runny egg and fries. And the octopus with sweet potato purée was divine!

My wife and I came here for lunch after visiting the Quinta da Regaleira. We ordered the Lagareiro style cod and octopus and although both dishes were cooked nicely, it was difficult to enjoy because of the amount of oil. After a couple bites, it’s downhill from there. That said, we have generally not enjoyed the traditional Portuguese dishes. We find them bland and unrefined. This was our first time trying the octopus and it was surprisingly tender compared to the chewy texture you’d typically expect. If you’re like me and don’t enjoy your fish with bones, stay away from the cod. The table next to us ordered the steak and it looked underwhelming. If I were to visit again, I would go for the seafood rice

Overall not too bad but definitely not good. The fish in the Arroz de Marisco was clearly frozen and from a premade mix (with some surimi, the micro shrimps and all these kind of things) maybe the claims and the mussels were kinda fresh or at least not coming from the classical supermarket mix. The 32€ for the pot that is supposed to be for two people are too much. The pastel de bacalhau were ok and it’s nice that you can find the vegan options (the burger was average). The staff is nice and the restaurant is small and intimate with some tables outside. In total for three people with the rice, the burger, and some sides 75€ that is a bit too much.

Table ordered veg rice, cheese board, alheira, beef axico, beef prego, and pastry trio. Service for food was pretty quick, service for bill and such was standard for portugal (ie. much slower than in canada). The food was very expensive, pretty high even for the average restaurant in Sintra. Food was not very good, steaks were chewy and sausage was very mushy (first time having alheira so may be typical). Portions for the prego were very small for a €16 sandwich. literally a thin piece of beef on a bun, a small dish of mustard, and a handful of fries. Alheira tasted fine but not a pleasant texture, same with the Axico. everyone was friendly and it was an okay place but ultimately NOT WORTH the money when there are some AMAZING restaurants in Sintra for the same price (Tascantiga and Metamorphosis...

We went here after a visit to the palace. We were walking through and not sure where we wanted to go, but ended up here because it looked like what we wanted. The menu looked a little limited and I wasn’t quite sure to get but Bella, our server and chef made a recommendation that was absolutely perfect! Her customer service would make me wanna give this place five stars! I got the cod over whipped sweet potatoes and it was perfect. We got the couvert, the olive oil and olives were great. The bread was something I could have done without as it felt like just plain sliced white bread. The Vino Verde was superb. While other places were overflowing busy, I was surprised this one wasn’t busy because...
